The special slot which fans have been eagerly waiting for, has now been awarded to Vampire Esports
PMWI 2023 features a prize pool of $3 Million USD, whereas last year it was capped at $2 million USD.
There will be a preliminary event played among the top voted teams from all regions which shall determine 6 teams that shall move on to the main event.

The slot list for the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2023 (PMWI 2023), one of the two titular annual global events of PUBG Mobile has been revealed. Sadly, no Indian teams will be able to participate in PMWI 2023. Some community members had reasons to believe that Tencent is taking its time for Krafton to re-launch BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) in India. However, all speculations were put to rest as the officials offered the special invite slot to the defending PMWI champion, Vampire Esports.

PMWI 2023 Format and Prize Pool

Hosted by Gamers8, the PWWI 2023 is scheduled from 11th to 16th July, featuring a whopping prize pool of  $3 Million USD. The global event will be played out in two phases. The first part is the All-Stars stage where  teams from 18 regions will be selected through voting. Only the team that gets the highest vote from its respective region will get a shot to play at the All-Stars stage. The All-Stars stage is scheduled from 11th to 13th July where these 18 teams will lock horns for the top six spots in order to qualify for the main event. The main event is scheduled for 14th -16th July in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

PMWI 2023 Invited Team

Teams who will get a direct slot to the main event are the soon to be crowned winners of the PMPL Championship ‘South Asia’, ‘Americas’, ‘Europe’ and ‘Middle East & Africa’. All these tournaments are currently underway. Apart from these, the top two teams from ‘PMPL 2023 Spring South East Asia’ will get a slot . Filling the rest of the slots, we have the top two teams from ‘PEL 2023 Spring’, the winning team from PUBG Mobile Showdown Japan and Korea, and the winner of the Saudi E League. These 10 teams along with the top five teams from the All-Stars stage, will fight it out during the three-day event for the lion's share of the $3 million USD prize pool.

Twisted Minds, Tianba, Six Two Eight, Alter Ego Ares, ShineLikeDiamond and last but not the least, the defending PMWI 2022 and Afterparty Champion Vampire Esports, have already gotten themselves a slot at the main event.

The voting event for the All-Stars stage is scheduled from 26th to 30th May, for all the 14 regions. The rules for voting mentioned by the officials are featured below.

Last year we had Team Soul as one of the qualifying teams from the BMPS 2022. Furthermore, we had 7Sea Esports participating in the after party event. It will be interesting to see how many tune in this year given that no Indian team is getting a chance to participate.
