After weeks of lackluster performances, Blacklist International secured a 2-1 victory against Nexplay EVOS in the sixth week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9. The match was an uphill battle for both teams as they tried to adjust their drafting and strategy with the new patch update. Through a post-match conference, Blacklist International’s Gold Laner, Kiel "OHEB" Calvin Soriano commented on the debate of who deserves the title of the best Beatrix user in MLBB esports. Remaining humble, OHEB stated that the title was given to him based on his performance as an MLBB pro player.

Blacklist International clutches victory against Nexplay EVOS

Blacklist International opted for a non-marksman team comp in the first game. To compensate for the lack of overall damage capabilities, Edward “EDWARD” Jay Dapadap opted for a Benedetta with the Execute Battle Spell. This allowed Blacklist International to keep up with Nexplay EVOS’ damage potential during team fights. With a solid lead in objectives and gold, Blacklist International closed the first game at the 16-minute mark with a victory.

Blacklist International started strong with a victory in the first game.

Nexplay EVOS managed to turn the tide in its favor in the second game. Renejay "RENEJAY" Barcase’s Jawhead delivered an impressive Flicker - Ejector combo that opened up a ton of team fight potential for Nexplay EVOS. The game ended with a victory for Nexplay EVOS and opened a third deciding match.

The third deciding match was a tug of war between the two teams. Blacklist International learned from its mistake in the previous game and focused on keeping Renejay’s Jawhead from opening a weak spot in team fights. This allowed OHEB to farm comfortably. Thanks to Mark “ESON” Jayson Gerardo’s Ruby, Blacklist International was able to penetrate Nexplay EVOS’ defenses to close the match series with a 2-1 victory.

OHEB answers who he thinks is the best Beatrix user

Through a post-match interview, Blacklist International’s marksman specialist, OHEB responded to the community debates on who deserves the title of being the best Beatrix user.

“For me, I don’t consider myself as the good Beatrix player. But I did earn the title for a reason, I didn’t just acquire it out of nowhere,” said OHEB.

OHEB earned the title of the M3 MVP and “The Filipino Sniper” due to his amazing Beatrix gameplay during Blacklist International’s run in the M3 World Championship. During the fourth week of the MPL PH Season 9, Omega Esports’ Grant “Kelra” Duane Pillas proclaimed himself as the best Beatrix user in the Philippines after securing a “Savage” kill streak against Blacklist International. This opened up a debate in the MLBB Philippines community on who deserves the title of “The Filipino Sniper.”

Blacklist International is currently ranked sixth on the regular season leaderboards. The team is looking forward to keeping its momentum going as it inches closer to securing a playoffs spot. The team is set to go up against one of the top-performing teams in the MPL PH Season 9, ECHO on 27th March.
