Nexplay EVOS Releases CADENZA From Its MLBB Roster

Another promising rookie has left Nexplay EVOS’ lineup as it bid farewell to the star roamer Kenneth "CADENZA" Castro. He was one of the most essential players that led to the team’s dominant performance during the Sibol Qualifiers and the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9. With the upcoming season on the horizon, Nexplay EVOS may be looking to revamp its roster. The release of CADENZA from the team roster may be a sign that the rumors regarding the acquisition of the former ONIC PH pro player Karl Mico "Micophobia" Tarala Quitlong (also known as Mico) may be true.

CADENZA leaves Nexplay EVOS

As one of the star rookies of the MPL PH Season 9, CADENZA was believed to be one of the potential candidates for the next generation of the fabled “Big Three” of Nexplay EVOS together with Marius “DONUT” Tan, and Rainiel “URESHIII" Jhim Agustin Logronio.

However, Nexplay Esports’ recent Facebook post on 1st July revealed that the team has let go of its star roamer. In the post, it captioned, “Despite being a newcomer in the league, we've witnessed your pro-level skills in action from 2022 Sibol National Team Selection to MPL Philippines Season 9.”

Why Nexplay is releasing its promising rookies?

Some fans expressed their concerns as to why the esports organization is letting go of its star rookies despite a solid performance in the previous tournaments. A video posted by TambayTV back in 2021 sheds light on this mystery, revealing that the rookies were not bought out from their team AP Esports. Rather, the team was merely being rented by Nexplay EVOS.

“We actually had a meeting with the owner of Nexplay, Sir Gab [Gabriel Benito], the players weren’t bought out, they were just rented for [MPL PH] Season 9,” said Aj Ponce, founder of AP Esports.

A now-deleted Twitter post from Nexplay Esports’ Chad De Vera also revealed that the team’s promising jungler Michael “MP the King” Medrocillo Endino may also be released soon.

“Now, why are Donut and Elpizo remaining [in Nexlay EVOS] despite being a part of AP Esports? It’s because there was a tryout in the bootcamp but MP and URESHIII did not participate. CADENZA didn’t make it.”

This means that the team may be keeping two of AP Esports’ star rookies for the upcoming MPL PH Season 10. However, Nexplay EVOS is yet to confirm this so take this information with a grain of salt.
