MobaZane plans to compete in the upcoming NACT 2024 Spring season with a new team.
MobaZane had previously announced that he planned to travel to Indonesia to either join a team or pursue content creation.
According to MobaZane, the $3 million MSC 2024 prize pool convinced him to stay in NA and try to secure a slot for the international event.

Following the announcement regarding the expanded prize pool of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024, anticipation surged among fans and professional players alike. Notably, North American (NA) player Michael "MobaZane" Cosgun, who had earlier declared his plans to go abroad and compete for another region, found himself caught in the wave of excitement. The unveiling of the MSC 2024, featuring an unprecedented $3 million USD prize pool, prompted a noteworthy shift in MobaZane's perspective. With a newfound determination, he declared his intention to build an NA team, aiming to secure qualification for the international event set to unfold in Saudi Arabia.

MobaZane backs out from Indonesia travel plans following MSC 2024 prize pool announcement

MobaZane had previously announced that he planned on joining an Indonesian team or focus on his content creation career. However, after the unveiling of the details regarding the MSC 2024 and its massive prize pool, the pro player had a change of heart.

Through a live stream on 25th January 2024, MobaZane shared how he is considering building a team to compete in the upcoming NACT 2024 Spring Season with the hopes of qualifying for the upcoming international event.

“I wasn’t gonna make a team but then they slapped $3 million dollars on it so it’s time to go, I think, time to make something happen,” he shared.

When fans asked if MobaZane could rebuild the BloodThirstyKings (BTK) banner, he explained that he might consider a new team name.

“I’m a little bit tired of using the BTK name, put that way. It might be time to put BTK back in the shed for a little bit,” he explained.

He further elaborated on his decision to go back to the NA MLBB esports scene, claiming he never intended to compete in his local league event but the massive prize pool of the MSC 2024 made him change his mind.

“I mean, I wasn’t thinking I was gonna [compete in NACT 2024], but I guess a $3 million dollar tournament changes some things,” MobaZane stated.

As for his new team’s lineup, he explained that it may comprise him, Cole World, Peter "Basic" Lozano, Demon, and Rainiel "URESHIII" Logronio. MobaZane clarified that the lineup is not yet official.

The Esports World Cup Foundation and MOONTON Games recently announced MLBB as the first confirmed title for the inaugural Esports World Cup in Summer 2024. This also marks the first time that the MSC 2024 shall be held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. It will be interesting to see how tough the competition will be considering more teams are now hyped for the massive $3 million USD prize pool in the international event.
