MPL Brazil Season 1 Invited Teams Revealed

The six invited teams for the upcoming Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Brazil Season 1 have been revealed, a month after the official announcement of the tournament. The invited teams for MPL Brazil Season 1 are RED Canids, Vivo Keyd, Santos e-Sports, Black Dragons, Imperial Esports, and DreamMax Esports. The six invited teams will participate in the regular season which will kick off on 14th Aug 2021, alongside the top two teams in the open qualifiers. The MPL PH Brazil Season 1 boasts a prize pool of $30,000 USD, with the regional champions securing a spot in the upcoming Mobile Legends global tournament. Invited Teams for the MPL Brazil Season 1

Moonton has finally revealed all the six invited teams for the first official MPL tournament outside Southeast Asia. These teams will be competing alongside the top two teams from the open qualifiers in the regular season.

Here are the six invited teams for the upcoming MPL Brazil Season 1;

RED Canids is an esports organization in Brazil that holds a lot of teams from various esports titles such as Valorant, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO), and League of Legends.

According to a report from Esports Insider, the CEO of RED Canids Kalunga, Felippe Corradini, believes that a new era of mobile esports is emerging which opens up a ton of possibilities.

"As we are in business with new sponsors from the mobile sector, it makes total sense for us (to enter MPL Brazil) to build a great start in a great league that has huge potential to grow here in Brazil. Especially knowing the success it has in Southeast Asia. We are entering a new era, mobile gaming is huge and the public is younger. It opens up a whole new level of possibilities!” stated Felippe Corradini, as quoted by Esports Insider.

Vivo Keyd has a lot of mobile esports titles under their wing such as Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, and League of Legends: Wild Rift. The organization also has CS: GO and League of Legends teams but the latter has disbanded in 2020. The organization will now venture into the Mobile Legends esports scene and showcase its handpicked talents.

Santos e-Sports is a Brazillian esports organization that holds teams from esports titles such as Rainbow Six Siege and CS: GO. The COO at Select e-Sports Management – Santos e-Sports, Marcus Oliveira, states that the organization has been keeping a keen eye on the growth of mobile esports in the market and sees the MPL Brazil as an opportunity for them to hop into the trend, according to a report from Esports Insider.

“Santos e-Sports is always studying the worldwide mobile gaming market and sees it as a valuable opportunity to be among the teams that will act at MPL Brasil Season 1,” stated Marcus Olivera, as quoted by Esports Insider.

One of the oldest esports organizations in Brazil, Black Dragons, will also be participating in the upcoming MPL Brazil Season 1. The organization has been in the esports industry since 1997 and is currently managing teams from esports titles such as Rainbow Six Siege, Free Fire, and PUGB Mobile.

One of the dominant teams in the Brazillian CS:GO esports scene, Imperial Esports, will now hop into the Mobile Legends esports scene in Brazil. The organization also competes in esports titles such as Crossfire and Valorant.

A lot of Mobile Legends fans are familiar with DreamMax Esports, the Brazillian team that participated in the M2 World Championships. The team went home without the championship title but it left a pretty good impression that the Brazilian team is just as competitive as the esports teams from SEA.

Hosting the first MPL League outside the SEA region is a giant leap for the growth of the Mobile Legends esports scene. It will be interesting to see if MPL Brazil Season 1 will be able to recapture the hype that its SEA counterparts have delivered.
