BloodThirstyKings’ (BTK) team captain Michael "MobaZane" Cosgun believes ECHO has become Blacklist International’s weakness. In the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 11, many fans watched ECHO's iconic 4-0 M4 World Championship sweep of Blacklist International. Aside from Filipino fans, this scene caught the attention of many spectators around the world, including MobaZane himself. This led the North American jungler to think that ECHO is a team that Blacklist International just can’t beat at the moment. MobaZane further elaborated that it’s not because the Codebreakers were simply not good enough but there are teams that heavily counter another team’s strategy.
MobaZane thinks ECHO is Blacklist International's “Kryptonite”
MobaZane talked about ECHO’s performance in the MPL PH Season 11, in one of his livestreams. The pro player explained why RSG Slate PH was able to defeat ECHO in the playoffs stage, something Blacklist International failed to accomplish in the grand finals.
“ECHO had a way harder time versus RSG… RSG was making comebacks,” MobaZane said.
The BTK jungler further explained why RSG did better against ECHO but failed to take down Blacklist International.
“Some teams do better versus other ones. Just the playstyles counter each other, something like that,” he said.
MobaZane further added that “one playstyle might be really hard for one team to deal with but easy for another team to deal with.”
Considering how Blacklist International always lost to ECHO, 4-0 in M4 World Championship and MPL PH Season 11, the BTK captain thinks Blacklist International is not yet strong enough to square off with ECHO.
“ECHO is something Blacklist can’t really beat,” said MobaZane. “You’d think maybe even one game, but not even a single match went into Blacklist’s favor.”
The two powerhouse teams of the Philippines will still have their third chance for a grand finals rematch in the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023. Meanwhile, MobaZane and his BTK squad will compete for a slot in the upcoming mid-season event at the North America Challenger Tournament (NACT) Spring Split 2023 against Team Outplay in the grand finals match on 14th May.
