Omega Esports' Kelra and ONIC PH's Markyyyyy made a promise to meet each other in the grand finals and represent the Philippines in the MSC 2022.

Omega Esports proved they are the “Comeback Kings” after taking down ONIC PH with a clean sweep victory in the lower bracket playoffs of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9. Right after the match, Omega Esports’ Grant "Kelra" Duane Pillas was seen in an emotional state and reached out to ONIC PH’s Mark "Markyyyyy" Christian Capacio. Through a post-match press conference, the star gold laner explained why he was emotional after defeating last season’s runner-up team. Omega Esports will be heading to the lower bracket semi-final while ONIC PH will settle for a fifth-place finish in the MPL PH Season 9.

Kelra shared his promise with Markyyyyy

According to Kelra, he did not expect ONIC PH to get sent to the lower bracket. Facing his mentor and good friend Markyyyyy in an elimination match was heartbreaking for Omega Esports’ star Gold Laner.

“We really want to meet each other in the grand finals and fly to the MSC 2022,” stated Kelra.”I kept saying sorry to Markyyyyy, I really cried.”

As much as Kelra wanted Omega Esports and ONIC PH to represent the Philippines in the upcoming Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2022, one team had to be eliminated in the lower bracket, and ONIC PH was the one to lose its grand finals dream.

Omega Esports and ONIC PH shared a hug after the match concluded.

Despite this, both Omega Esports and ONIC PH remained comrades, hugging each other after the match concluded.

Kelra also shared how close he is with Markyyyyy, given that they were former teammates before going their separate ways.

“We’re super close because we’ve been teammates for two years. He was like a brother to me and helped me improve and get stronger,” stated Kelra. “He was the reason I know how to play ML.”

Omega Esports will be heading to the semi-finals match on 1st May where it will be decided as to which team shall proceed to the grand finals match of the MPL PH Season 9.
