According to Kairi, haters have no idea how Mobile Legends and its esports scene works.

After ONIC Esports emerged victorious in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023, the team's star jungler Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol fiercely defended his teammates against criticisms. The team had faced accusations of being carried by Filipino players, but Kairi, a Filipino import, clarified that this perception was far from the truth. He emphasized that every member of the team had dedicated themselves to improving their gameplay, dismissing the notion of any favoritism. Moreover, Kairi shed light on the ignorance of those who criticized ONIC Esports for recruiting Filipino talents solely to dominate the Mobile Legends esports scene, highlighting their lack of understanding regarding the intricacies of the esports industry.

Kairi slams allegations of him doing all the work for ONIC Esport

Following the inclusion of Kairi and coach Paul "Yeb" Miranda to ONIC Esports, the Indonesian team faced heavy criticism from fans who believe the organization had solely recruited Filipino imports to enhance its tournament performance. However, the team proved its detractors wrong by achieving remarkable success and even breaking the longstanding dominance of Philippine teams in the MSC 2023

In a post-match press conference after their triumphant championship run, Kairi finally addressed the haters.

“I think the people who say that, I think they know nothing about ML (Mobile Legends) or esports,” he said.

He further elaborated that “in every sport, in any game, this isn’t like chess that’s only 1 v 1. Teamwork is a must, they don’t know what’s happening outside the game, in practice, in shotcalls, basically, how the flow of the game works.”

According to Kairi, his teammates in ONIC Esports have done everything in their capabilities to improve and keep up with strongest teams in the Mobile Legends esports scene.

“We all help each other out. When someone is underperforming, for example, I underperform, my team has my back and carries me.” he explained.

In an unexpected turn of events, the Yellow Hedgehogs managed to overthrow the iconic Codebreakers with an impressive 4-2 score, although the series itself was characterized by nail-biting moments and fiercely contested team fights.
