Global Esports Wins THUG Invitational Season 5

The THUG Invitational Season 5 has concluded with Global Esports (GE) walking away as the champions. With this win, GE has increased its gold medal tally to three for the season having previously won Ruthless Invitational Showdown and The Esports Club: BGMI Invitational Season 3.

GE did not actually start off on the right note as it barely managed to qualify for the grand final stage of the tournament by placing 15^th during the league stage among the 24 competing teams.

It swept the second last spot to enter the playoffs and did not look too promising based off its initial performance. However, it quickly changed gears to win two WWCD (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner) in the very first day of the playoffs by securing a comfortable lead early on and kept building upon it to lift the trophy and walk away with INR 4,00,000 in prize money.

The aggressive maneuvers by the Global Esports BGMI team, for which they have been criticized in the past, seems to be finally paying off, helping them score a total of 290 points in the THUG Invitational Season 5 to walk away as the champions.

Additionally, GE was also the team with the maximum number of finishes at the event, 138 finishes in 24 matches, an average of almost six finishes every match. This helped them secure a huge lead, a difference of 30 points separating them from the runners-up, Enigma Gaming.

The main takeaway from this performance by GE was their consistent engagements in fights and the success rate they maintained throughout, because despite being tied up with Enigma Gaming across both WWCDs (4) and Placement Points (152) they had a 30 point lead on the scoreboard, the difference maker being the finish points.

Also, three BGMI players from GE were present in the list of top eight fraggers of the tournament, Jokerr, manya, and NakuL who had 43, 42, and 34 finishes to their names respectively. This goes on to show that the whole team stepped up their game and contributed to this victory, rather then it being a one-man show.

Global Esports is currently competing in the ongoing Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) Season 1 where they are currently placed 11^th out of 24 competing teams in the league stage. Hopefully, they will be able to improve upon this performance and qualify for the playoffs.
