One of the top contenders of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports, Geek Fam, has collaborated with Slate Esports to form a new team called Geek Slate. The squad will compete in the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Indonesia (ID) Season 11. A talent from Bigetron Alpha has also been loaded to play as Geek Slate’s Gold Laner for the upcoming season. Slate Esports is a Singaporean team who is also competing in MPL SG composed of former EVOS SG players. The squad still features its iconic Filipino imports which spearheaded them to an impressive resurgence in recent tournaments. However, some of its players have decided to skip the upcoming MPL ID Season 11.

Geek Slate unveils MPL ID Season 11 roster

Slate Esports expands its esports endeavors as it has now partnered with Geek Fam to compete in the upcoming Indonesian league. The squad will now be known as Geek Slate featuring the former Geek Fam members along with new additions.

Through an Instagram post, Geek Fam ID announced its roster for the MPL ID Season 11 with the caption “Last season they proved that they are a very solid team. Is this season their time to shine?”

One of Bigetron Alpha’s pro players, Matt, has been loaned to play under the Geek Fam banner for the upcoming tournament. Muhammad "Lzuraa" Arif and Shaddam "Renesmee" Evan will be skipping the upcoming season.

Geek Fam has competed in the MPL ID since Season 4. However, it was not until Season 10 that the squad saw improvement in its performance after the addition of its Filipino imports Baloyskie and Janaaqt. While the squad only finished an upsetting 8th place, it has shown the potential that only needs polishing.

Geek Fam went on to finish second place in the MPL Invitational 2022 and the Top Clans 2022 Winter Invitational before rebranding as Geek Slate.

It will be interesting to see if the team is able to keep its momentum going in the upcoming MPL ID Season 11.
