Free Fire fans can get excited as the game's developers have just announced some major changes coming to the Nextterra map, along with revealing the highly-anticipated Free Fire OB43 Release Date.
In an Instagram post, Garena highlighted that Nextterra will be getting a "2.0" revamp. This includes a Zipway redesign, reduced map size, structure adjustments, and Budlings readjustments. Together these changes should refresh the gameplay and meta on Nextterra. Most importantly, they also announced that the OB43 update for Free Fire MAX will be rolling out on January 24th.
Major Updates from Free Fire OB43 Advance Server
Zoner Timer Update
On the battle royale map front, the safe zone adjustments will speed up match pace. The second zone timer is reduced from 80 to 60 seconds after landing. Furthermore, the second zone will now take 240 seconds to shrink instead of 230 seconds previously. The third zone's shrink time drops from 75 to 50 seconds.
Change in Vending Machine Economy
Vending machines are also seeing revisions. The normal vending machine will have increased upgrade chip costs from 400-500 coins. New redeemable content like character skill cards will be added to both normal and falling machines. The falling vending machine will have a free Homer character skill card.
New Weapon
New guns are also making their way to Free Fire. The M4A1 rifle, which draws comparisons to the M4, will be obtainable from the new Evoground Woodpecker mode. The Woodpecker itself will receive buffs to its damage and range statistics.
Character Rebalance
Character abilities are poised for rebalancing as well. Garena has asked players which of characters like Sonia, Orion, Antonio, and Caroline they find most powerful so that skills can be adjusted accordingly. Other character changes will also roll out with the OB43 Advance server.
Others Changes coming with the OB43 Update
The buy station system will be overhauled starting with the February battle pass bundle. At level 100 purchase, the male bundle will automatically upgrade without needing tokens. Moreover, future female bundles will also get special effects to match the male bundles.
In positive news for emote enthusiasts, the emote wheel slots are increasing from 8 to 12. This means players can flaunt even more emotes during matches and lobby showcases.
