Free Fire 4th Anniversary to Feature DJ Duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike

Garena has announced a partnership with the DJ duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, who will be headlining Free Fire’s 4th-year anniversary celebrations. Free Fire’s 4th Year Anniversary will take place on the 28th of August, 2021. The game’s first testing release was in August 2017 and its anniversaries have been celebrated in August ever since. The Free Fire 4th anniversary celebration will ship out some new features in the game such as a 1v1 mode, a redesigned spawn island, and much more. Free Fire’s long-awaited patch OB29 is also set to release earlier in the month on 4th August.

Dmitri Vegas and Thivas (Like Mike) Free Fire Release Dates

Garena’s partnership with DJ duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike is at the forefront of the 4th-anniversary celebrations and update. Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, ranked 2nd on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list for 2020, will be joining Free Fire’s diverse cast of characters as part of its 4th-anniversary celebration rewards.

The DJ duo’s Free Fire characters will be available to play in-game. Dimitri Vegas will release in Free Fire on 12th August via a top-up event and Like Mike (Thivas) will be released for free on the day of the anniversary, 28th August. This is not the first time Free Fire has had personalities added to the game as characters. Renowned musicians such as DJ Alok and KSHMR have also been part of Free Fire events and were introduced as playable characters.

The collaboration between Garena and the DJ Duo was put together with their long-standing partner, Epik.

Garena has also announced multiple upcoming events and features with the 4th-anniversary celebration in the latest episode of The Kelly Show (What’s up Free Fire)

One of the main features that the anniversary celebration will bring is a special redesign of the spawn island which will feature new music, a color overhaul, and a sign that will showcase the events of the anniversary celebration.

In the episode of The Kelly Show titled ‘4nniversary’, Kelly shared a couple of updates that will be coming soon during the anniversary season.

The developers are working on a 1 vs 1 mode, something that fans have been asking for. The Anniversary Awards for the most popular character of the year was announced with Alok emerging as the victor. The DJ even had a short bit in the episode. Other awards - such as most popular pet and most popular weapon - were also announced.

Clash Squad enhancements were also discussed. Players will be able to make a request for weapons and equipment in the store, and a teammate can buy it for you. Also, auto pickup is improved to pick up high-value items first. Other enhancements like improvements made to characters like Jota and the vending machines were also talked about.

It looks like Free Fire’s anniversary season will bring players and fans a myriad of things to be excited about - from a long-awaited patch to an exclusive partnership with DJ duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike who will feature as playable characters.
