Here’s all you need to about this edited BGMI teaser and Paresh Rawal’s link to BGMI.

Ever since Krafton announced that Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is returning soon, players and fans have been trying to deduce the actual date of launch. While Krafton said the game will soon be available for download on both Android and iOS devices via Google Play Store and the App Store, it did not mention a particular date or time of release. As a result, members of the Indian Gaming Community (IGC) have been speculating about the release date on social media, coming up with their own wild theories.

Notably, a brief teaser has been making the rounds on social media channels featuring actor Paresh Rawal. Before you get all excited, know that the BGMI teaser with Paresh Rawal is fake.

Here’s all you need to about this edited BGMI teaser and Paresh Rawal’s link to BGMI.

Fact-Checking the BGMI x Paresh Rawal Teaser

Before getting into the nitty-gritty of the teaser, let us first break down what was actually shown in it in those five brief seconds. The teaser opened with Krafton’s logo, followed by the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) logo, and concluded with a shot of Paresh Rawal looking at someone with a smirk on his face. In the background, you can hear heartbeat sounds.

If you are an avid cinephile who watches a lot of movies, you would have immediately guessed that the teaser is fake. The reason is that the short clip of Paresh Rawal is actually from the trailer of 2021 Hindi movie titled Toofan featuring Farhan Akhtar, Mrunal Thakur, and Paresh Rawal.

At 2:33 in the Toofan trailer, you can find the actual clip of Paresh Rawal. Even otherwise, one can easily tell that the teaser was poorly edited and spliced, giving it typical fan-trailer vibes.

Why Is Paresh Rawal Involved With BGMI?

The reason why you have been encountering a ton of Paresh Rawal edits and clips in the BGMI community could most likely be attributed to an official BGMI Instagram caption.

On 24th May, BGMI Instagram posted, “We've got something very special coming up on YouTube! Can you guess the name from the post? Hint: Aisa dhak dhak horela hai!

Mereko to aisa dhak dhak horela hai” loosely translates to “I am feeling nervous” in English. This one-liner is a very famous reference to the popular show Phir Hera Pheri movie. Interestingly, Paresh Rawal says this dialogue in the movie to fellow actors Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty.

With BGMI posting this dialogue, fans immediately began theory-crafting linking Paresh Rawal and BGMI’s official launch.

One user commented on Instagram, “Aisa Dhak Dhak Horela Hai - Paresh Rawal. His Birthday Is On 30 May Matlab game 30 May Ko aarha hai.” (Translation: Meaning the game is coming back on 30th May.)

While we are unsure of the actual launch date of BGMI, it will be wild if the game actually releases on 30th May, proving that BGMI fans have good detective skills. However, the biggest takeaway is that the teaser featuring the actor is actually fake.
