ECHO dominated the first half of the regular season only to fall hard due to the sudden shift of the MLBB meta.

One of the strongest teams during the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9, ECHO, has released three of its pro players. The esports organization announced the departure of Rion "Rk3" Kudo, Aaron "Aaronqt" Lim, and Jaymark "Hadess" Aaron Lazaro through its official Facebook page. In the MPL PH Season 9, ECHO had a stellar performance in the regular season, finishing third on the leaderboards, only to have a massive upset after a massive shift in the meta, and got eliminated on the first day of the playoffs stage with 0-3 loss against OMEGA Esports. After its surprising upset in the MPL PH Season 9, the team is looking to revamp its roster in preparation for the next season.

ECHO Bids farewell to RK3, Hadess, and Aaronqt

After the renowned super team had a disappointing run in the playoffs of Season 9, ECHO officially announced the departure of three veteran players from its roster.

The team is known as the underdog who revamped its roster and competed with an all-star team which worked wonders during the regular season of the MPL PH Season 9. However, a massive meta shift happened in the middle of the tournament which tipped the balance for the team’s chemistry and strategy.

Rk3 and Aaronqt were arguably underutilized in the previous MPL PH season. They were not given enough chances to showcase their potential during the tournament and only served as reliable substitute players. Both pro players have been competing under ECHO since it debuted back in Season 8.

On the other hand, Hadess is one of the most iconic veterans in the MLBB Esports scene. The pro player started competing under Cignal Ultra during MPL PH Season 6. He had an uphill climb in his career, switching to Aura Fire before eventually signing on with ECHO in Season 8. However, similar to Rk3 and Aaronqt, Hadess was not able to showcase his skills as he was also underutilized in favor of the team’s star Jungler Karl “KarlTzy” Gabriel Nepomuceno.

This may not be the last time fans will be seeing the three pro players. As esports organizations prepare for the upcoming MPL PH Season 10, we may see them pick up RK3, Hadess, and Aaronqt heading into the new season.

Following these departures, ECHO’s current roster is:

  • Jankurt "KurtTzy" Matira (EXP Lane)

  • Frediemar "3MarTzy" Serafico (EXP Lane)

  • Ashley Marco "Killuash" Cruz (EXP Lane)

  • Karl "KarlTzy" Gabriel Nepomuceno (Jungler)

  • Frederic Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales (Gold Lane)

  • Christian "Rafflesia" Fajura (Roamer)

  • Tristan "YAWI" Cabrera (Roamer)
