Omega Esports recovers from its early jitters to secure first win in Week 2
The renowned Comeback Kings proved their title once again after a long and grueling series with RSG Slate PH in the second week of the MPL PH Season 11. The squad emerged victorious with a 2-0 win with four points in its standing.
The first game of the series saw RSG Slate PH taking the lead after securing a first blood and a turtle kill in the early game. The Kingslayers continued to dominate the game while Omega Esports struggled to maintain its composure and stall the game as much as it could for its late-game scaling composition.
The Comeback King’s efforts paid off as it found its momentum and claimed the fourth Lord of the game and ran it down to close the series which lasted for almost half an hour.
Omega Esports continued its dominance in the second game to secure its first series win in the MPL PH Season 11 regular season.
Confidence issues plagued Omega Esports during MPL PH Season 11 week 1
Omega Esports had a rough start this season with two losses against ONIC PH and Bren Esports. According to coach P4kbet, it was due to a lack of confidence as its iconic roamer Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog is absent from the roster while Patrick "E2MAX" Caidic left the playing field and joined the coaching staff.
“[We lacked] confidence [during week 1] because our lineup was new. We lost our veterans like Ch4knu and E2MAX who were the ones delivering on what the players should be doing in-game,” explained P4kbet. “[They] were the players who can deliver win conditions."
While the team suffered during week 1, Omega Esports was able to recover from its early jitters and won against RSG Slate PH with a clean sweep victory. The squad is looking to keep its momentum going as it faces the defending champion Blacklist International next on 25th February.
