ECHO star Gold Laner Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales was crowned as the first-ever Razer Gold Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Press Corps Player of The Week. The pro player was one of the main-five talents that took down the powerhouse squad Blacklist International and won the M4 World Championship. Bennyqt was also crowned as the grand finals MVP (Most Valuable Player) during the world series event.

The Razer Gold-MPL PH Press Corps Player of The Week title was decided through votes of various media outlets covering the MPL PH Season 11. Various talents from the broadcasting and operations team of the league event also casted their votes on which player deserves the title.

Bennyqt spearheads ECHO to a dominant MPL PH Season 11 opening

To kick off its MPL Philippines Season 11 campaign, ECHO broke the M-series curse and made history by dominating its matches in the opening week with a convincing win streak.

The Orcas came out unscathed, sweeping all of their opponents as the team asserted its mastery over defending MPL PH champion Blacklist International last Friday, claimed revenge on Bren Esports, the same team that took the Orcas down in the SIBOL qualifiers.

ECHO’s main five continued to prove why they are the reigning world champions but it was M4 Finals MVP Bennyqt’s explosive performance in the gold lane that powered the team’sshowing in Week 1 of the MPL PH Season 11.

The star Gold Laner averaged 6.50 kills, 5.75 assists, and 2.0 deaths for a 6.13 KDA against Blacklist International and Bren Esports.

He was also quick to display his deep hero pool, utilizing four different heroes in the four games that he played. He recorded a total of 26 kills, 23 assists, and eight deaths on the Beatrix, Brody, Lunox, and Harith throughout the week.

For his efforts, Bennyqt was named the first Razer Gold-MPL PH Press Corps Player of the Week for the period of 16th - 22nd February. The 21-year-old gold laner will receive a Razer Barracuda courtesy of Razer Gold, the leading virtual credit for gamers worldwide.

"I'm happy with our performance this week. One of the reasons is also because we defeated Blacklist International who is a defending champion and also Bren Esports that's a contender this season," said Bennyqt.

"This is very important for me and my team to start the first week with a sweep [victories]. Once we have a good start, we can continue our momentum," he added

Bennyqt edged his teammate Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera and RSG Slate PH gold laner Eman “EMANN” Sangco for the weekly award handed out by the print and online media covering the MPL PH beat, as well as the league’s broadcasters and operations team.

It will be interesting to see if ECHO can keep its momentum going and secure its slot in the playoffs stage of MPL PH Season 11.
