Omega Esports, a fan favorite, had one of its most unexpected runs in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 10. The team finished fifth to sixth in the playoffs and did not qualify for the M4 World Championship. Following this, two of Omega Esports' star players, Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog and Grant "Kelra" Pillas, made a post implying that they or someone else would leave the group to join another. Both parties have yet to explain what they meant in their social media posts. Omega Esports has yet to declare whether it plans to overhaul its roster and release some of its members for the upcoming MPL season.
Omega Esports may be releasing a player, as per hints from Ch4knu and Kelra
Through Facebook and Instagram posts, two of Omega Esports’ iconic players gave cryptic hints of someone leaving the team.
Ch4knu’s My Day post on Facebook stated, “Some goodbyes are good for growth.” The pro player did not specify what he meant with the post.
Coincidently, Kelra also made a story post on Instagram with the emoji flags for Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. The pro player had previously revealed that he has been receiving offers to join MLBB teams from other countries. One of the undisclosed Indonesian teams even offered him a six-digit salary.
These posts caused fans to speculate that one of the two players, or someone else on the squad, is thinking about changing environments and joining a new team for the upcoming season. Given that the team has been invited to the next MPL Invitational 2022, fans may still see the main Omega Esports squad during the event. Following the invitational competition, the team will be back in action in the MPL PH Season 11 next year.
Omega Esports is yet to officially reveal if it plans to release a player from its MLBB roster, so take this information with a grain of salt. Fans will have to keep their eyes peeled for more updates in the future.
