Bren Esports Aims for Top Seed Playoffs With a Clean Sweep Against Omega Esports
Bren Esports kept its upper bracket dream in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 10. The M2 World Champion was able to secure a 2-0 clean sweep victory against Omega Esports, placing itself in the fourth spot with 21 points in total. Through a post-match press conference, Bren Esports’ assistant coach Jian "Pauloxpert" Munsayac emphasized the importance of securing an upper bracket seed in the MPL PH Season 10 playoffs. According to him, securing the top seed would reduce the team’s chances of making an early exit in the playoffs and hopefully reach the grand finals and win this season’s championship title.
Bren Esports ends Omega Esports’ three-game winning streak
The M2 World Champion, Bren Esports, continued its resurgence to deliver a clean sweep victory against the renowned comeback kings, Omega Esports.
In the first game, Bren Esports had a hard time securing objectives as Omega Esports’ star roamer Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog kept resetting the Turtle and Lord camps with his Grock. With a bit of precise positioning, the M2 World Champion was able to prevent the resets and effectively secure objectives without competition. With a 10k gold lead, Bren Esports spearheaded Game One and sealed the win at the 17-minute mark.
Omega Esports was not able to recover from its early jitters during game one. The renowned comeback kings failed to suppress Bren Esports who closed game two in a dominant fashion and claimed the series win.
Bren Esports aims for the upper bracket seed, says Coach Paoloexpert
Through a post-match press conference, the team’s head coach shared that the team still has a lot to work on and cannot afford to relax despite securing a playoffs spot.
“Even if we are already guaranteed for playoffs, we don’t treat it [Bren vs Omega] as a non-bearing game,” said the coach. “We’re still trying to aim for the upper brackets.”
He explained that “if you’re not in the upper brackets, it’s only a single elimination match.” This means Bren Esports won’t have to worry about early elimination in the playoffs if the team can secure an upper bracket seed.
“The kids are still focused, 100% full throttle, even for our next series against Nexplay.” said Paoloexpert. “Don’t expect us to slow down anytime soon.”
Bren Esports is set to go up against Nexplay EVOS on 1st October at 5:00 PM (PHT). Omega Esports can now rest and prepare for the playoffs stage as it no longer has any more matches left in the regular season.
