Blacklist Sibol Sweeps Cambodia, Secures Gold Medal Bid in the IESF MLBB Event
The Blacklist Sibol squad continued its win streak in the lower bracket playoffs of the International Esports Federation (IESF) 2022 14th World Esports (WE) Championship Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports event. The representative team of the Philippines (PH) scored a 2-0 clean sweep victory against team Cambodia in the lower bracket finals match. The Blacklist Sibol team shall head to the grand finals and compete against Indonesia (ID) for the championship title. The grand finals are scheduled to start on 11th December. The final match between PH and ID is expected to be a heated fight between the two biggest rival teams in the MLBB esports scene.
Blacklist Sibol redeemed itself with flawless victories in the lower bracket playoffs of the IESF MLBB event
The Blacklist Sibol team struggled against the Indonesian team on the opening day of the competition. The squad also experienced problems with equipment that was being utilized in the competition, which may have affected how well the team performed in its opening game of the IESF 2022 MLBB event.
The early jitters experienced by the PH representative did not stop the team from showing its prowess in the competition. Blacklist Sibol was able to secure four consecutive clean sweep victories against Slovenia, Argentina, Malaysia, and Cambodia, in the lower bracket stage.
With its lower bracket journey having finally concluded, the Blacklist Sibol squad will face Indonesia on the grand finals day on 11th December. The match will be played in a BO5 series with the ID team having a one-win advantage after dominating the upper bracket competition.
The Philippines and Indonesia are considered the strongest regions in the MLBB esports scene. Teams from the two regions have been competing on who gets to be on top of the meta with the PH teams currently in the lead after winning multiple major events such as the 31st SEA Games and both the M2 and M3 World Championship.
It will be interesting to see if Blacklist Sibol will win another major championship title or will Indonesia beat its biggest rival in the upcoming grand finals of the IESF MLBB event.
