Blacklist International has continued it's winning ways in the MPL PH Season 8.

Blacklist International hopes to lessen the toxicity of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang community and bring back the healthy rivalry between its team and the former Execration squad. Blacklist International dominated against Omega Esports in the second week of the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 8 with a 2-1 reverse sweep. Omega Esports put up a good fight but Blacklist International managed to flip the tides. In a short post-game interview, Blacklist International’s coach, Kristoffer “Bon Chan” Ricaplaza calls out the fans to tone down the toxicity and bring back the wholesome rivalry between Blacklist International and Omega Esports that was built last year.

Blacklist International wants to revive its wholesome rivalry against Omega Esports

A fated rematch between the two biggest teams in the MPL PH esports scene emerged on 4th Sept 2021. Blacklist International had its sweet revenge against Omega Esports with a score of 2-1 reverse sweep. Omega Esports did put up a good fight, even without its star rookie Duane “Kelra” Pillas. However, Blacklist International managed to flip the tide and managed to secure two wins against its arch-nemesis.

In a post-match interview, Blacklist International’s coach, Bon Chan expressed that he wants the wholesome rivalry with the former Execration squad to be revived.

Let’s just say that the rivalry that was formed is quite beautiful,” stated Bon Chan. “Maybe we should move on to the past issues and bring back the healthy rivalry where fans band together.

The coach added that the audience was the true victory of this match as they get to witness and enjoy an amazing match between Blacklist International and Omega Esports. Bon Chan also stated that his team enjoyed playing against the former Execration squad.

We enjoyed playing against them, not only because we are rivals, but also because they are fun to play against,” stated Bon Chan.

The rivalry started back during the MPL PH Season 7 playoffs, where Execration made an impressive comeback from the lower brackets and rose to the grand finals. An epic match emerged as both Blacklist International and Omega Esports dragged the grand finals match into a long and action-packed one that lasted over seven rounds before Blacklist International finally emerged victorious.

Execration then managed to get their revenge in the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2021 as another fated rematch against Blacklist International emerged in the grand finals. Execration dominated the grand finals with a score of 4-1 score. Execration was then absorbed by Omega Esports, forming its new lineup in the MPL PH Season 8.

The wholesome rivalry was briefly stained after the star rookie of the former Execration Squad, Duane “Kelra” Pillas made unprofessional remarks towards Blacklist International’s Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario.

Kelra received a two-week suspension from MPL PH as well as an undisclosed fine from both the league and his team, Omega Esports. Kelra will be back in action on the third week of the MPL PH Season 8. However, it is still unclear on whether Omega Esports will be drafting Kelra in the main roster in future matches.

Blacklist International continues to dominate in the MPL PH Season 8 without a single loss in its overall standing. Omega Esports, on the other hand, is struggling to find its momentum with only one win and three losses.

It will be interesting to see if both teams will be able to meet once again in the grand finals of the MPL PH Season 8.
