Blacklist International Talks About Back-to-Back MPL PH Championship Titles
Shortly after their hard-earned victory in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 8, the Blacklist International squad reveals how much this championship title means to them. After a solid 4-1 victory against ONIC PH in the grand finals, the two-time champions were interviewed and asked about what they felt after finishing the MPL PH Season 8. This season’s MVP, Salic "Hadji" Imam expressed his excitement for finally earning his MPL PH title. The team’s coach Kristoffer "BON CHAN" Ricaplaza believes that this victory should grant the team the respect they deserve from both fans and pro players.
Blacklist International squad becomes emotional after winning MPL PH for the second time
Visibly emotional after a well-deserved victory in the MPL PH Season 8, the back-to-back champions were shortly interviewed on what they think about their impressive two-season win streak.
The team’s core specialist, Danerie "Wise" Rosario immediately contacted his family to inform them of his achievement through a video call. With tears rolling down his eyes, he jokingly bragged that he could finally buy what he wanted.
Wise also added that he is happy Hadji finally earned his championship title alongside him.
“Hadji has been playing since (MPL PH) Season 2 and he hasn’t won a single title until now,” stated Wise.
Wise’s partner and Blacklist International’s team captain, Jhonmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna stated that at this point, everyone should know how strong his team is.
The team’s head coach BON CHAN thinks that with all the issues his team faced this season, this victory should prove that his squad earned the respect they deserve.
“This championship is very important for us because we were struggling to get the respect that my players deserve,” stated BON CHAN. “This is it, this is the sign that we deserve respect.”
The veteran player, Hadji felt ecstatic after finally achieving his goal of winning an MPL PH championship title.
“I am so, so happy. Since season 2, it has always been my dream (to win) so I never stopped at MPL because I want to be a champion,” stated Hadji.
Before Blacklist International was established, Hadji, BON CHAN and Dexter "DEX STAR" Alaba were former members of the SxC Imbalance. The team was eventually absorbed by EVOS PH which later disbanded after MPL PH Season 4. The roster was then acquired by Tier One Entertainment and became Blacklist International. However, Hadji was not able to join his former teammates until MPL PH Season 8.
With their tickets booked for the M3 World Championship, Edward "EDWARD" Dapadap confidently states that they will be proving to the world that they can take down the strongest of teams in the upcoming world championship.
The team’s troublesome yet promising star rookie Kiel "OHEB" Soriano expressed his happiness that he was able to make up for the matches he missed due to his suspension.
“Because of what I did, my team dropped to the lower bracket, so I promised myself to make up for it and bring my team to the championship,” stated OHEB.
One of the team’s veteran players DEX STAR believes that all eyes will be on Blacklist International, now that they are the two-time champions of the MPL PH.
Finally, Blacklist International’s “uncle” and veteran player Mark "Eson" Gerardo states how the fan’s unconditional support has impacted the team in a positive way.
“To the agents (fans) that support us, you’re the best,” stated Eson.
Blacklist International is now setting its eyes upon its next challenge - MPL Invitational 2021. The team alongside the MPL PH teams who qualified for the playoffs will be facing the top teams from all over the South East Asian region for the lion’s share of the $100,000 USD prize pool.
It will be interesting to see if Blacklist International can keep its momentum going and secure another championship title in the upcoming MPL Invitational 2021.
