Blacklist International took the championship title in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 8 after defeating ONIC PH in the grand finals. The team successfully defended its championship title with only one defeat out of all the five matches against ONIC PH. With the MPL PH Season 8 officially concluded, the defending champions and the rest of the MPL PH teams who qualified for the playoffs will now face another challenge- the MPL Invitational 2021 which is scheduled to kick off on 2nd November and will feature the top tier MPL teams from the SEA region.

Blacklist International dominated the match against ONIC PH in the MPL PH Season 8 grand finals

During the first game, Blacklist International asserted dominance with Salic A "Hadji " Imam leading the charge with his Yve. ONIC PH couldn’t find opportunities to initiate a counterattack as Hadji would always catch them off guard with Yve’s Real World Manipulation ultimate skill.

ONIC PH retaliated on the second game as Mark "Markyyyy" Capacio’s Nathan was able to lead his team to victory through a crucial team fight at the 19-minute mark where ONIC PH was able to take down all Blacklist International members except Hadji who desperately defended the base to no avail.

The third game went in favor of Blacklist International. Hadji’s Grock and Edward "EDWARD" Dapadap’s Paquito opened up a ton of opportunities for his team to secure kills and objectives. ONIC PH tried to compete with Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol desperately carrying his team but at the 14-minute mark, Blacklist International was able to close the match and secure its second win.

Blacklist International continued its rampage in the fourth game with 13 accumulated kills at the 10-minute mark while ONIC PH is yet to secure any kills. Additionally, ONIC PH’s base is also left with only one turret in its very vulnerable base. The defending champions swiftly closed the match and secured their third win before ONIC PH could recover from their predicament.

ONIC PH could not secure a single kill.

The grand finale saw ONIC PH desperately trying to keep up with Blacklist International’s quick and accurate rotations. However, despite both teams performing well in terms of kills, the defending champions were ahead in terms of objectives which gave them the most upper hand. With ONIC PH frequently defeated during team fights, Blacklist International immediately closed the game at the 10-minute mark and successfully defended its championship title.

Blacklist International celebrates its victory.

ONIC PH will have to settle for the runner-up title and will shift its focus to another challenge- the MPL Invitational 2021. This tournament will feature the best MPL teams from all over the SEA region competing for the $100,000 USD prize pool.

It will be interesting to see if Balcklist International can take this victory to the next level in the MPL Invitational 2021.
