Midnight believes that RSG PH’s team roster has a lot of potential

After two seasons, Nexplay EVOS finally broke free from its “playoffs curse” after defeating RSG PH with a 3-0 match score in the opening match of the MPL PH Season 8 playoffs stage.

Despite Nexplay EVOS dominating with a clean sweep victory, RSG PH did maintain its momentum and almost secured a win during the third match. However, Nexplay EVOS won a crucial team fight at the 35-minute mark which took down four players from RSG PH, allowing them to swiftly end the match and close the series.

Midnight revealed during a post-match interview that he was impressed with the team’s performance and believes that they may become stronger next season.

“My message to RSG (PH), I hope they don’t re-roster,” stated Midnight. “I mean, their banning is so good and they had a slight statistical advantage.”

The pro player also expressed his admiration to RSG PH’s coach Brian “Panda” Lim, saying that Panda is one of his inspirations to improve himself in his field.

“Panda has always been my idol, my very first idol,” stated Midnight. “We had an advantage of knowing Panda so when the match started, we were ready.”

Despite having a good opening match in the MPL PH Season 8 playoffs, Nexplay EVOS proceeded to lose against ONIC Esports in the upper bracket with a 0-3 match score before eventually ending its playoffs run in the hands of Blacklist International in the lower bracket with another 0-3 match score.

Nexplay EVOS finished fourth place in the MPL PH Season 8 with high hopes that they can continue to improve in the next season. This is the highest that Nexplay EVOS has gone so far compared to the last two seasons where they finished 8th place.
