Highlights
Indian esports caster Zishan "Mazy" Alam speculates that the tournament is expected to be held in a LAN setting, possibly in Delhi or Hyderabad, with increased opportunities for underdog teams.
Mazy anticipates the LAN event to be one of the largest, with a large number of teams advancing from the in-game qualifiers, potentially introducing additional rounds. Measures against cheaters and hackers will be intensified in BGIS Season 2.

Prior to its ban, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI)'s publisher, Krafton, had organized the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2021, featuring a INR 1 Crore (≃ $134,356 USD) prize pool. Now, with the game's comeback, speculations about BGIS Season 2 are abound, and Indian esports caster Zishan "Mazy" Alam recently shared his insights on the matter.

BGIS Season 2: A Lan Event with Increased Opportunities for Underdogs

In a recent live stream, Mazy delved into the prospects of BGIS Season 2, expressing his conviction that the tournament would be held in a LAN setting, with the possibility of a live audience. When it comes to the location, Mazy mentioned, “There are two places expected, as it's not possible in Mumbai, it would be either Delhi or Hyderabad.”  In his view, these two cities possessed the necessary resources readily at hand. Mazy anticipates that this LAN event will go down in history as one of the largest, especially given its occurrence after a three-year hiatus.

As for the tournament format, Mazy shed light on his expectation that BGIS Season 2 would adopt the in-game qualification format used in its predecessor, BGIS 2021. However, he also emphasized that the upcoming iteration would exhibit a greater degree of inclusivity for underdog teams. Mazy revealed that a larger number of teams would progress from the in-game qualifiers and hinted at the possibility of additional rounds being introduced this season.

Ankit "AnkiiiBOT" Pandey, another caster, chimed in, remarking that the increased opportunities for underdogs would pose a challenge for T1 teams, heightening the difficulty for the invited teams.

Addressing the pressing concern of cheaters and hackers that marred BGIS 2021, Mazy sought to calm viewers' concerns by assuring them that comprehensive monitoring measures would be in place right from the inception of BGIS Season 2. He emphasized that while some moderation efforts were implemented in the previous season, this time around, they would be elevated to an entirely new level.

While the specific dates, registration process, and other vital details regarding BGIS Season 2 are yet to be officially revealed, Mazy's insights have sparked immense anticipation within the BGMI community.
