Round 3 of Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 has been difficult for many experienced teams as they have faced elimination from the tournament. Underdog teams have shown aggressive gameplay and put forth some amazing battles against seasoned teams.
BGIS 2023 Round 3 has concluded and teams like Team Soul, Gods Reign, Revenant Esports, Team X Spark have dominated the event. On the other hand some experienced teams like Team Godlike, Orangutan and Global Esports have most likely been eliminated from the tournament.
BGIS Round 3 Summary
Some of the teams in Round 3 had to compete online whereas other teams had to play their qualification matches offline. Day 1 and 2 of Round 3 had Groups 2 and 3 competing online and this was the case with Day 3 and 4 as well for Groups 5 and 9.
Teams like Team Godlike and Gods Reign were placed in Group 2 and they dominated Day 1. Team Godlike however could not continue its momentum on Day 2 and slipped from 2nd position on Day 1 to 7th position on Day 2 and was eliminated from the event. Upcoming teams such as 1M Officials and Great Esports showed aggressive gameplay and grabbed a spot in the Quarterfinals.
Group 3 played their matches on Day 1 and 2 as well. Team Insane was the dominant team across both the days. The second seasoned team in the group i.e. Hyderabad Hydras did not perform well on Day 1 but made a comeback on Day 2, grabbing a massive 52 points in 3 matches to grab a spot in the Quarter Finals. Brave Esports, an underdog team, impressed everyone with its play style and also secured its spot in the Quarterfinals
Teams like Team Soul, Revenant Esports and Team X Spark competed on Day 3 and 4 of the event. Group 5 consisted of teams like Team Soul and Revenant Esports. Both the teams showed consistent performances in terms of finishes as well as placement points on Day 3 and 4. Team Soul was placed on top of the table but it was without a chicken dinner to its name. Bloodrose Esports, an underdog team from this group, also showed its prowess and grabbed a spot in the Quarterfinals.
Group 9 had seasoned teams like Team X Spark and Numen Gaming. Team X Spark had consistent performances on both the days and also topped the points table. Numen Gaming was not able to grab a chicken dinner, but it played a position based game and consistently finished in the top 5 teams in most of its matches. LOC Esports is an upcoming team and with a good mix of finish and placement points it was able to secure a spot in the Quarterfinals.
Round 3 had 256 teams divided into 16 groups with each group consisting of 16 teams. 4 groups played their matches online and the remaining 12 groups played played their matches offline. These are the teams from the 4 groups we know that have qualified for the Quarterfinals. The teams that have qualified from other 12 groups have not been revealed yet.

Some of the seasoned teams have shown their dominance in the event with consistent performances. Whereas some of them have failed to adapt to the strategies of underdog teams and have faced elimination. Quarterfinals will start on 21st September and fans are hoping that the qualified seasoned teams continue their momentum and proceed to the next stage.
