The tournament will kick off on July 15, 2021, featuring 2 leagues, 2 cups, and a grand final where the winner is crowned as the champion. The tournament will span over seven months of intense action in Wild Rift.

Participating teams will be competing in their respective regional league for its $20,000 USD prize pool which will be evenly split between the two leagues. The top 20 teams will then proceed to the grand finals where they stand a chance at the $30,000 USD prize pool and the title of champions.

“Part of our mission in the region is to provide our players with multiple roadmaps that deliver on the Wild Rift experience. Battle of The Rift is just one of many products for this year and we are excited to see how our players will interact with it,” stated Riot Games.

Moreover, the participating countries will be split into two regions, GCC & Iraq (KSA, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Iraq) and the Levant & North Africa (Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya).

“We are very excited about this partnership with Riot Games for the premier tournament of Wild Rift. The MENA region is rapidly developing into a powerhouse for professional players and teams for the world to notice,” said Aravind Swaminthan, co-founder of Calyx.“With our recently concluded Calyx Dune Cup, which was a part of the official BLAST Premier circuit for CS: GO, we saw NASR Esports represent the region on the international stage at the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown. We are confident that Battle of the Rift will also serve as a stepping stone for players to reach international recognition.”

Registrations for the tournament are currently ongoing and can be accessed through the link provided.

The Battle of the Rift may be one of the biggest esports events yet for Wild Rift in the MENA region. It will be interesting to see if this event will be able to bolster the Wild Rift esports scene in that region.
