Geek Slate is already making necessary adjustments to improve its players for the next season.

Geek Slate’s iconic veteran Allen Jedric "Baloyskie" Baloy expressed his desire to return to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) esports scene. He previously hinted at retiring as a pro player through a social media post. However, he later explained that he was driven by his emotion when he made that post. Baloyskie led Geek Slate to a surprising resurgence in the MPL Indonesia (ID) Season 11 where it successfully secured a playoffs spot. However, the team’s journey was short-lived after EVOS Legends halted its momentum, eliminating the squad on the first day of the playoffs with a reverse sweep.

Is Baloyskie returning to MPL PH?

Through a press interview, Geek Fam Filipino import Baloyskie shared his thoughts on the possibility of him returning to the Philippines and continuing his journey as a Mobile Legends pro player.

“I thought hard about it, so much, and I watched the Mic Check of PH teams. I miss communicating in Tagalog and I think I haven’t unleashed my full potential because it’s way easier to shot call in Tagalog,” explained Baloyskie.

Even though the famous roamer is tempted to go back to the Philippines, he must also think about the salary and his future as a veteran Mobile Legends professional player.

“The salary is the last priority, but if I receive an offer and the team is super strong. For now, I don’t know how long I will remain at my peak,” said Baloyskie.

Baloyskie explains Twitter post of him hinting at retirement

During the interview, Baloyskie also explained that his previous Tweets about retiring were driven by his emotions after the team failed to win its first playoffs match.

“Actually, during the time of my Tweet, I was a bit upset with myself… I reached the point where I’m sad. The enemies are getting stronger, but I realized I wasn’t paid for my micro but if ever I get an offer or if [from] Geek Fam, I think I won’t [retire] yet,” he explained.

“That Tweet was out of emotion but if someone makes an offer, which no one has yet, I feel I’ll get an offer anytime soon,” the star roamer added.

While he is open to other teams' offers, Baloyskie revealed that Geek Slate is already planning its next course of action to meet its goal for the coming season.

“Actually, our team is planning on improving our response time this season. If they have plans and adjustments, my plan is to get my second championship trophy and third M-series appearance,” Baloyskie said.

Given its impressive run in the MPL ID Season 11, it will be interesting to see if Geek Slate can maintain this momentum and aim for a championship run in the next season.
