Baloyskie and Janaaqt Break Geek Fam’s Loss Streak Curse in MPL ID Season 10

After a total of 3 losses, Geek Fam has finally broken free from its curse and secured its first win in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Indonesia (ID) Season 10. With the help of two Filipino players Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy and Jaymark “Janaaqt” Lazaro, the team won against Rebellion Zion with a 2-0 clean sweep victory in the second week. This is one of the biggest achievements for Geek Fam as it had not won since the MPL ID Season 8, resulting in a 17-loss streak. The team is looking to keep this momentum going and climb higher on the leaderboard.

Baloyskie and Janaaqt carried Geek Fam to its first win of the season

The second week did not start smoothly for Geek Fam. The team suffered a clean sweep defeat against EVOS Legends on 20th August. However, the team redeemed itself the next day as it scored a clean sweep victory against Rebellion Zion.

The aggressive playstyle worked well for Geek Fam. Baloyskie picked Natalia while Janaaqt played Julian in the first game. The team was able to gain a 9,000 gold lead at the 10-minute mark, making the game quite one-sided. The first game closed with a 21-5 kill standing.

The second game was no different from the previous one. Geek Fam opted for a team fight-oriented lineup with Baloyskie locking in Grock while Janaaqt flexed his Julian gameplay. While Rebellion Zion had the upper hand in the early game, Geek Fam was able to turn the tables and gain the advantage by securing an enhanced Lord at the 13-minute mark to end the series with a 2-0 victory.

Geek Fam’s performance in the previous season was very upsetting for the fans. The team finished the regular season with no wins, dropping them to the lowest placement on the leaderboard. The team continued its losing streak in Season 10 with three more losses until the team finally broke free from the curse and won against Rebellion Zion in a dominant fashion.

While Geek Fam’s victory calls for celebration, the team’s journey is yet to be determined. The squad will be facing ONIC Esports ID on 28th August at 3 PM (GMT+8).
