After their disappointing run in the MPL Indonesia (ID) Season 7, Alter Ego went back on the drawing board and welcomed former tank support of ONIC Esports, Rasya Arga “Rasy” Wisista, in its Mobile Legends roster. This was revealed shortly after ONIC Esports officially announced the departure of Rasy from their Mobile Legends roster. Rasy has also been seen visiting Alter Ego’s gaming house before the official announcement was posted, according to a report from Dunia Games. Alter Ego’s official MPL Indonesia Season 8 roster is yet to be revealed. More details regarding Alter Ego’s new tank support player, Rasy, can be found below.

Rasy Joins Alter Ego’s Mobile Legends Roster

A few days after the departure of Rasya Arga “Rasy” Wisista in ONIC Esports, Alter Ego took him in as their new tank support to prepare for the upcoming MPL ID Season 8. This came as a surprise for the fans as Alter Ego’s last roster update was during MPL ID Season 5 where they acquired Muhammad “Udil” Julian.

"Welcome AE.Rasy to Alter Ego Esports! ⁣Say hello to our new player, Rasy, who has officially become the new player at Alter Ego Esports in its Mobile Legends roster! Aren’t you excited to see his action in Mobile Legends competitive scene?⁣," Alter Ego stated.

Alter Ego is known for being the dark horse of Mobile Legends teams in Indonesia with championship titles from MDC Season 1 2018, Dunia Games League 2018, and MPL Invitational Season 2. They managed to reach the playoffs stage during the MPL ID Season 7 but were eventually dropped by Bigetron Alpha during the first stage, resulting in their early exit in the tournament.

Currently, Alter Ego holds eight players in their Mobile Legends roster;

  • Rasya Arga “Rasy” Wisista

  • Ahmad “Ahmad” Abdurrahman

  • Julian “LeoMurphy” Murphy

  • Ilyas “Caesius” Rahmanda

  • Eldin Rahadian “Celiboy” Putra

  • William “Yam” W

  • Rafly Alvareza “Pie” Sudrajat

  • Muhammad “Udil” Julian

  • Syauki Fauzan “Nino” Sumarno

Fans have speculated that the reason for Rasy’s arrival in the team is because one of their tank players, LeoMurphy, hinted at retiring in one of his livestreams to focus on his streaming career. Alter Ego and LeoMurphy himself are yet to make statements regarding this. Currently, LeoMurphy is still a member of Alter Ego and is showing no signs of leaving the team.

LeoMurphy may not have a flashy gameplay like Ahmad and Celiboy, but the aggressive playstyle and mastery of his strategies certainly helped Alter Ego become one of the best Indonesian teams in the Mobile Legends esports scene.

It will be interesting to see if Rasy will be able to deliver the same performance or maybe even surpass LeoMurphy and help Alter Ego regain their former glory in the upcoming MLBB tournaments.
