Upthrust Esports recently held the first-ever tournament in India for Krafton's latest strategy mobile game called Road to Valor: Empires. This was a hybrid competition, giving talented players a chance to go against famous content creators.
The open qualifiers started on 16th April featuring a single-match direct elimination format. A maximum of 128 registered players went against each other with only eight of them qualifying for the next stage after three days of intense action.
Eight directly invited content creators joined these eight qualified teams in the group stage. A best-of-seven direct elimination format was followed with four winning players from each group moving on the semifinals.

After two more days of executing their best strategies, the best-of-seven grand finals was played on 22nd April between 8bit Mafia and Claw Gaming. It was a thrilling encounter that went down to the last game following a solid tussle by both the finalists.
8bit Mafia managed to secure the win in the final game after the series was leveled at 3-3, showing glimpses of his skill attained from playing another similar mobile title called Clash Royale.
With this win, he becomes the first-ever Road to Valor: Empires champion from India, pocketing the lion's share of the INR 50,000 prize pool along with the title, respect, and bragging rights!
