Americas Server Launch

Wild Rift has officially launched the Americas server, allowing players from all over America to hop into the game and experience League of Legends from a brand new perspective. Along with the Wild Rift Americas server launch, players from Hong Kong and Macau will now be able to hop into the game without restrictions.

New Champion Galio

Galio will soon arrive in Wild Rift.

The upcoming new tank/mage champion will soon arrive in Wild Rift on April 1, 2021. Galio is a flexible tank champion that can engage in team fights and tank some damage while also dealing a ton of AoE damage.

Wild Rift Patch 2.2: New Features and Game Modes

Position Preference

The most-requested feature in Wild Rift has finally arrived for testing purposes. This allows players to take control over the position or role they play in the game. This feature will stay for 2 weeks.

The most-requested feature has finally arrived in Wild Rift.

Here are a few things to note regarding the new Position Preference feature;

  • The queue will not impact ranked progression or contribute to most event progress.
  • An event called Position Lab will be released, which will give players extra Blue Motes for each day they play using the new feature.
  • Pending the queue’s performance and player feedback, the devs will evaluate whether it’s ready to roll out to the primary ranked queue at the end of the test. If not, the devs will take it back into development for more tweaks.

All Random All Mid (ARAM) Game Mode

This new game mode will also be launch for playtesting. In ARAM, there’s one lane, and you’re given a random champ from your pool. Players can reroll for a new champion for a limited amount of tries if they want. Rerolled champions go to the “bench” where your teammates can pick them up if they wish.

In ARAM, there will be two new spells for players to use;

  • Mark/Dash: A two-part spell. Mark throws a snowball in a line, dealing damage and marking the first enemy hit. Reactivate to Dash to the enemy to instantly.
  • Clarity: Clarity is joining from the League PC lineup. Using Clarity grants a burst of mana back to you and nearby allies.

The new game mode will arrive on April 5, 2021, and will last for three days. After evaluating the game, if it works in everyone’s favor, the game will return on April 15 and will last until May 19, 2021.

Wild Pass

A new feature is added in the game allowing players to acquire in-game loots just by simply playing the game. Players can choose to upgrade their Wild Pass to obtain new rewards. Reaching Wild Pass level 50 grants players an exclusive Hexplorer Jax skin. Beyond Level 50, players can continue to earn bonus rewards like champions and skin chests.

Purchase the premium Wild Pass and reach level 50 to recieve Hexplorer Jax.

The Wild Pass will be launched along with Ranked Season 2 and the premium upgrade will cost 590 Wild Cores. Players can progress faster by purchasing Wild Pass Elite which costs 400 Wild Cores.

Wild Rift 120HZ Support

For high-end devices, Wild Rift will now be able to run on 120 FPS. Your device may experience overheating or performance issues, so use it carefully.

New Language Support

Added official support for Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, and Arabic.

There are known issues with some text displaying incorrectly in Arabic. The devs will be fixing them in future patches.

Wild Rift Ranked Season 2

For the Americas server, they will immediately start their first Ranked Season 1 on March 29 with the same rewards as other server’s Ranked Season 2. Other servers will start Wild Rift Ranked Season 2 on April 3, 2021.

Wild Rift Patch 2.2: Champion Changes

A lot of champion changes are coming to Wild Rift.

The mighty cow gets a little bit of durability nerf to help enemies keep up with his tanking capabilities.

Base Stats

  • Health: 650 to 610

(1st Skill) Pulverize

  • Knock-up radius: 300 to 275
  • Damage: 60/120/180/240 to 60/110/160/210

According to the devs, Amumu’s win rate is a little bit too much. So they are giving the sad mummy a few nerfs to keep him from having one-sided matches.

Base Stats

  • Armor: 40 to 35
  • Health per level: 105/level to 95/level

(2nd Skill) Despair

  • Damage AP Ratio: 1% per 100 AP to 0.75% per 100 AP

(Ult) Curse of the Sad Mummy

  • Cooldown: 100/85/70s to 110/95/80s

Converting physical vamp to magical vamp proved way too much for Corki. The devs have removed this ability and both vamp passives will work normally.

(Passive) Hextech Munitions

  • Corki's attacks will no longer convert physical vamp into a magic vamp and will instead behave as normal.

Darius is strong, but her ultimate can easily be canceled due to it’s skill animation being too long. The devs now made him unstoppable during cast time.

(Ult) Noxian Guillotine

  • Darius is now unstoppable during the cast time.

Dr. Mundo

Mundo’s entire presence in the game is way too much, especially if people don’t know how to counter him. The devs are nerfing him a bit to keep him fairly average.

(1st Skill) Infected Cleaver

  • Max damage vs monsters: 320/380/440/500 to 290/360/430/500

(3rd Skill) Masochism

  • Cooldown: 6/5/4/3s to 6/5.5/5/4.5s

The god of Dragon Lane is having too much fun bullying the enemy team with his 3rd skill. The devs are nerfing him a bit to have a decent lane trading.

(3rd Skill) Captive Audience

  • Now deals 65% damage to non-champions

The queen of mid-lane gets hit with another nerf. This time to keep his mechanical ball from dealing too much damage for a cheap cost.

Base Stats

  • Health: 570 → 530

(1st Skill) Command: Attack

  • Cooldown: 6/5/4/3s → 7.5/6/4.5/3s
  • AP ratio: 0.5 → 0.4
  • Base damage: 60/100/140/180 → 50/90/130/170

(3rd Skill) Command: Protect

  • Base damage: 60/100/140/180 → 50/90/130/170

Pantheon in Wild Rift proved to be too powerful. The devs will now bring him back in line with his League of Legends PC counterpart with a few bug fixes.

(1st Skill) Comet Spear

  • Mortal Will (enhanced) (1) no longer slows

(2nd Skill) Shield Vault (BUGFIX)

  • Now correctly resets attacks and empowered attacks cannot be interrupted

(3rd Skill) Aegis Assault

  • No longer blocks turret damage
  • Mortal Will (enhanced) (3) no longer has an extended duration
  • Mortal Will (enhanced) (3) now gains 60% movement speed for 1.5s when slamming shield

(Ult) Grand Starfall

  • The spear that lands before Pantheon now slows by 50% for 2s and deals Comet Spear’s damage in a small area

A mall tweak for Teemo to reduce his escape potential.

(3rd Skill) Guerrilla Warfare

  • Camouflage channel time: 0.8s to 1s

Wild Rift Patch 2.2: Systems Update

Attack Speed

The devs are hoping to reduce the effectiveness of kiting for Marksmen champions.

  • Attack Speed's effect ratio on attacks' windup time: 100% → 50%
  • Windup time = base windup time / (1 + attack speed) → base windup time / (1 + attack speed × 50%)

Summoner Spells

Ghost is considered a useless spell. So the devs are improving it and make it good as a mobility item.

  • Duration: 6s → 8s
  • Burst top speed reduced
  • Burst duration: 2s → 3s
  • On takedown, the buff’s duration is increased by 6 seconds, and the speed burst is reapplied.

The devs are scaling back the cast range of Ignite so players can have a window of opportunity to think of ways to escape before catching on fire.

  • Cast range: 7 → 5.5

Wild Rift Patch 2.2: Communications and Socials

New Pings

New Pings are available in the game.
  • Added 3 new pings for easier team coordination. Ping “Enemy has vision here” to warn about wards; ping “Group” to rally the team; or ping “Enemy missing” for when your lane opponent might be heading for a gank (and that is all it’s for—we changed the icon. RIP question mark. Long live Helmet Bro.)
  • You’ll soon occasionally receive emails if a player you reported was penalized for their in-game behavior.
  • You can now equip the same emote in multiple autofire slots.
