Announced on 4th September 2020 by Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumar, FAU-G, which stands for Fearless And United - Guards, quickly grew into a buzz. The game garnered public attention because of the fact that it was announced a few days after the Indian Government banned 118 Chinese apps citing data security issues. The game is also supporting Bharat Ke Veer, a non-profit foundation dedicated to Indian soldiers.
Numerous fake release dates were surfacing the internet alongside a few supposed APK downloads links. However, they’ve all been proven fake now that we have the actual release date, which is 26th January, a Republic Day launch which seems planned. The tweet announcing it also release a trailer for it.
FAU-G Trailer Is Out
In the trailer, we see Ladakh’s LAC where a Sikh soldier is brawling against a Chinese soldier. The trailer goes on to show many Indian soldiers then dropping at the site and then taking up arms and ammunition against the Chinese troops. It also features a catchy and patriotic track accompanying it.
FAU-G was earlier considered a copy of PUBG Mobile, a mobile game that was immensely popular prior to its ban. However, Founder of nCore Games, the publisher, told The Mako Reactor that the game won’t be featuring a battle royale, at least at launch. He adds that right now it is a brawler at the Galwan Valley. This can be seen by most as proof that FAU-G wasn’t an opportunistic grab at the vacuum left by PUBG Mobile. “Much like other games, we will first launch and update, we will see the feedback, we will see how the monetisation is working, how the customers are reacting. Live ops are not about launching and deciding to launch all the 500 features on one day. There will be something launched on day one. If you ask me, what will the game be like in six to 12 months after launch? It will certainly be both modes,” Vishal told The Mako Reactor.” We want to be true to the subject so that is what we are trying. To start with we’re going with third-person because with that we can give a really immersive experience, first-person doesn’t really work with brawler gameplay,” he adds.

The game also hit the highest number of pre-registrations on Play Store in India. The description of the game there reads: ‘Join a special unit of FAU-G commandos on patrol in dangerous border territory. Come face-to-face with India’s enemies as you engage with hostile invaders on Indian soil. Fight for survival against the unforgiving terrain and the implacable enemy. Fill the shoes of a patriotic soldier and experience the bravery, brotherhood, and sacrifice of the men guarding the country’s borders.’ At launch, FAU:G will have a Galwan Valley level, which will offer single-player as well as a multiplayer co-op.
