In a dev blog update, Garena put forward their plans for the near year. The New Beginning will launch on 1st January 2021 and include 3 major areas of update. Garena is focusing on the new Bermuda Remastered map, changes to battle mechanics and new challenges for the month of January.
Free Fire New Beginning Brings Bermuda Remastered, New Gameplay And Challenges
The new Bermuda Remastered map that has been in development for quite a few months will be available in Battle Royale in the next few days. This time, besides the 4 completely new zones, there are also graphics and performance optimizations throughout the entire map.

In addition, the melee weapon Scythe, will also be available exclusively on the new map.
In a recent update, Garena also introduced dual-wielding weapons to Free Fire also known as Akimbo. Besides new battle mechanisms, Garena will be making big changes to Classic Battle Royale, Clash Squad, and Free Fire’s signature character system in 2021. This may include reworking some characters or perhaps creating a class system similar to other battle royales. Free Fire will be releasing more details about these updates soon. Garena has also promised new challenges for January 2021 including another collaboration.
he past year has been filled with events and collaborations for Free Fire players. Plan Bermuda, BOOYAH Day, and Hayato and Kelly’s Awakening brought a lot of challenges for survivors. This year also included a number of special collaborations with DJ KSHMR, Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan and most recently famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
