The Malaysia Esports Championships 2020 (MEC 2020) has just been announced, featuring the popular games PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), DOTA2 and FIFA21.The event boasts a prize pool of 100,000 RM ($24.6k USD). To make things more exciting, the champions for MLBB and PUBG Mobile event will advance to the MLBB Pro League Malaysia/Singapore (MPL MY/SG) Season 7 and the qualifiers for the next season’s PUBG Mobile Malaysia National Championship (PMNC 2021).

The MEC 2020 Tournament

The MEC 2020 is a new tournament by Esports Integrated(ESI), a government-supported local initiative under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), in partnership with Geek Fam, a popular Malaysian Esports Organization, and esports organization, Alhamra Games.

The event features four popular esports titles, which includes PUBG Mobile, MLBB, DOTA 2, and FIFA21. Teams will compete for a prize pool of 100,000 RM. Champions from the MLBB event will be drafted on to the MPL MY/SG Season 7 and champions from the PUBG Mobile will join the next year’s PMNC 2021.

ESI said they’ll be adding more esports titles in the near future to give chance to everyone of different esports professions. This will help the event grow bigger than before and nurture promising esports pros in the future.
