Esports Awards 2020: MortaL Places Second and Third in Two Categories

The Esports Awards, created to celebrate the industry’s movers and shakers, released the second instalment of its spotlight show series with a new wave of announcements. Over 5 million votes were cast during the whole event. Indian YouTuber and pro player Naman Mathur "MortaL" became the first Indian to ever be nominated for the Esports Awards 2020 in July. Mortal was nominated for the Streamer of the Year’ as well as ‘Esports Mobile Player of the Year’, along with several others from around the globe. MortaL ended up bagging the second place in Streamer of the Year and third in Esports Mobile Player of the Year. 

MortaL Beats Out Other Finalists

MortaL stood third in the Esports Mobile Player of the Year category which saw 203K votes being cast. Bigetron RA’s Zuxxy won the award while Brazilian Free Fire player Nobru came in second place. 

While PUBG Mobile saw a lot of representation in this category, it was Free Fire that walked away with the Esports Mobile Game of the Year. Call of Duty: Mobile came in third.  

Out of the over 768K votes cast in the Streamer of the Year category, Ibai won the award, followed by second highest votes going to MortaL while CS streamer Gaules came in third.
