Twitch Rivals was a star-studded show which featured Wild Rift in a special Verizon 5G powered showcase.  The entire event is part of a celebration of the multi-year partnership that Riot Games signed with phone network provider Verizon this June.

The Wild Rift Invitational saw 10 competitors taking part in a short invitational. Said competitors were a mix of streamers and actors including Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black, Claudio “Cesaro” Castagnoli, Chrissy Costanza, Emmalee “EMUHLEET” Garrido, “FaZe Apex”, Joe Manganiello, William “Meteos “Hartman, Nate Hill, Rick Fox, and DJ ZEDD.

Alongside them, several ex-League pros participated in the tournament as coaches. Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett and Joedat “Voyboy” Esfahani took up this mantle and also selected the MVP for the tournament. There were also three commentators for the event, namely Caleb Simmons, James “Dash” Patterson, and Gabriella “LeTigress” Devia-Allen.

The competitors were divided into two teams which switched between matches. In the first match, the Blue team featured Aphromoo in the dragon (bot) lane as Support with basketball player Rick Fox as his ADC. ZEDD played in the Mid Lane. FaZe Apex played in the jungle while Cesaro played in the Baron (top) lane. In the Red team, Joe Manganiello played Top while Chrissy Costanza was in the jungle. Nate Hill played mid while EMUHLEET and Meteos played in the bot lane.

The first match was won by the Red Team as Joe Manganiello held his own in the top while Nate Hill put out a spectacular performance in Mid. The second match saw the teams switch up players in the mid lane with Nate Hill being switched to the Blue Team and ZEDD moving to the Red team. This switcheroo helped Blue win in the second match as the team gained confidence and Cesaro performed well at top and split pushed to victory. In the third match, the teams saw another switch, this time with their junglers. Blue won this match again thanks to the help of Nate Hill who was crowned the MVP for the tournament.

Nate Hill’s performance in all 3 games was godlike. He has 0 deaths in all matches combined.
