Esports in India is now in a tough spot. The game that brought this entertainment genre to the fore, PUBG Mobile, has now been banned by the government in the wake of border disputes with neighbours China. However, now, the entire situation in India is open for others to take the lion’s share that PUBG Mobile leaves behind. Among the many takers up for the challenge is Garena Free Fire.

Garena Free Fire had earlier announced their Free Fire India Championship 2020 Fall. Now, we have the last 18 teams of the Free Fire India Championship 2020 Fall introduced by Garena. These are the final teams that, in the League Qualifier Stage, had their best performances. These teams will now go on to compete in the League Stage that starts on 9th September.

Teams Which Qualified For Garena Free Fire India Championship 2020

The teams that qualified most recently include 4 Unknown, Critical X, United Nepal, Optimum Esports, UG Empire, Call us Lord, Total Gaming, Die Another Day, The Mutantzz, GZ Army, The Doctors, Old Skool, Soar Silently, Income Tax, Team Lava, Route Changers, K2 and Sixth Sense.

Free Fire India Championship 2020 Fall will give out approximately $68000 in prizes as the champions will receive a little bit more than $30,000. The prize that will remain will be divided into the remaining 11 teams. The squads with the Booyahs in the matches will get prizes too alongside the team with the highest number of kills.

On September 9 to 25, the League Stage will happen. Six of the best teams will directly skip to the grand finals while the other 12 teams will have to fight it out in the play-in stage on October 2nd. From there, the top six teams that emerge from the play-in stage will join in with the others in the finals that will take place on October 18th at 7 AM CT.

Finals of the Free Fire India Championship 2020 Fall will take place on Free Fire India’s YouTube channel. The play-in stage and the grand finals will then be played in a best-of-six format.

It will be interesting to see exactly how many people jump ship from PUBG Mobile to Free Fire given the current ban. While we can expect PUBG Mobile fans to either wait for some good news or make change happen for them personally by shifting to alternatives such as Call of Duty: Mobile and Free Fire, the Free Fire India Championship 2020 could be an interesting place to judge what lies ahead by looking at the viewership.
