  • Celtz win PMPL South Asia finals taking 40K USD home.
  • Team IND and Megastars also secure World League spots.

An action packed ending to the final day of the PMPL South Asia finals sees the unlikely heroes, Celtz walk away as champions. The team overcame a 50 point lead held by TSM-Entity in the final day to show everyone that they are not just going to represent South Asia internationally, but they are going to do it with style. With 3 top finishes on the day including one chicken dinner, the team went past the defending champions and ended with a X point lead. TSM-Entity will be kicking themselves after letting go of a massive lead on the final day and its fair to say that this was nothing short of a choke. However, their tally of 99 kills is by far the highest in the finals.

SynerGE also showed up on the final day with two big chicken dinners, both of which came via clutches from Seervi and Ted. With 4 chicken dinners in the finals, the team have the highest wins for the finals and ended their run in 5th place, having already secured qualification via the league stage. Orange Rock too ended in 4th, a slight downgrade from their league stage win, but one that they should be happy with.

Team IND managed to become the only team to qualify from South Asia in three consecutive international events, finishing in 6th place, 32 points above Fnatic, who were next in line. Megastars take the 3rd place in the finals, a true testament to the work the team has put in over the course of the season. Both Megastars and Team IND along with Celtz will join Orange Rock, TSM-Entity, Godlike and SynerGE in the World League.

Fan favorites, Fnatic and SouL, both fell short and can do little but look ahead to the next season. For Fnatic, big changes are incoming and the fate of the current lineup is undecided, as has already been announced by the organization. This is the first international event that will take place without SouL, something that their fans will find it hard to believe. Nonetheless, a new season awaits for many old names and new ones as this marks the end of the Spring Season for all but the 7 teams who have qualified from the region.

Celtz's win is likely to go down as one of the biggest underdog stories in PUBG MOBILE and the squad have shown that with determination and hard work, anything is possible. From being complete no-namers just a few months ago to being crowned the champions of South Asia, the team are living the dream at the moment. For their win they receive $40,000 in prize money, an amount which is life changing. A huge congratulations to all the teams who have qualified to the World League and we wish them the very best in representing the region. Let's hope that they can go ahead and do the region proud, when the World League kicks off in a month.
