Nerf in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is an adjustment made to heroes or in-game mechanics that have an overwhelming impact on the meta. These changes may reduce a hero's capabilities in-game or slightly alter its gameplay to give other heroes a chance to shine in their respective roles. Hero nerfs in MLBB are just as important as Buffs for each patch update. These changes pave the way for the meta to evolve and make the game more exciting with each update. A nerf in Mobile Legends is not limited to only hero adjustments. Occasionally, various items and gameplay mechanics such as jungle creeps and major objectives get their own changes when needed.
Why is nerf in MLBB necessary?
To establish a fair playing field for players, Moonton consistently implements gameplay changes to the game. When a specific hero or an in-game mechanic is too overpowered, the developers usually nerf these to make the gameplay conditions more balanced.
The recent Mobile Legends Patch 1.6.94 update completely changed the gameplay for the Jungle role. The new update now prevents Retribution’s damage from being amplified by any damage boosting effects. This reduces the viability of the Jungle Emblem which was a must-have for junglers before the patch update arrived.
The Retribution nerf in MLBB makes heroes who rely too much on the Jungle Emblem’s bonus effects less viable. Due to the huge impact of the emblem, Moonton made changes to prevent players from abusing its capabilities and open up opportunities to explore new strategies.
With this nerf in Mobile Legends, players can use heroes and match them with emblems based on their playstyle instead of being forced to use the Jungle Emblem for the sake of winning the jungle and objective clearing competition
Moonton implements a ton of gameplay changes to the game. One example is the Project NEXT update which is a series of major enhancements and overhauls that either revamp a hero or improve the in-game mechanics, making other heroes who were less viable in the meta to become relevant once again.
