Honkai Star Rail is now available on multiple platforms but if you are on PC, you may be facing a strange bug that is annoying countless players. There is a black bar at the bottom of some players’ screens and it shows some important shortcuts and your UID. If you want to remove the black bar from the bottom of your screen from Honkai Star Rail, here’s what you need to know about it.
How to remove the black bar from the bottom of your screen in Honkai Star Rail
If you go into Honkai: Star Rail’s graphics/video settings, the game does not let you remove the black bar from the bottom of your screen regardless of what resolution you set it to. The bar is meant to show your UID and other relevant shortcuts. While that information might not be relevant to you, it is something the devs have chosen to implement for PC players.
The same issue is also present in Honkai Impact 3rd since launch and Hoyoverse is unlikely to remove it. There is a workaround to the problem but it involves playing around with the game’s ‘safe area’ setting.
If you head into the video settings and change the aspect ratio, you will get the option to move around the Safe Area Ratio slider. You can use it to hide the black bar but it will lead to some issues. For starters, you will not be able to see a small portion of the top area of the game but it typically does not contain important information and things like enemy health bars should still be visible clearly.
Once you find what works for you using the Safe Area Ratio setting, do not change your resolution as you will need to make adjustments to your game all over again. While this is not an ideal solution, it is still a band-aid fix for the annoying black bar that keeps showing up at the bottom of your screen in Honkai Star Rail.
