Players are rejoicing at the imminent return of one of India’s favorite competitive games Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). On 19th May, Krafton announced that the game shall be soon available for download across Android and iOS devices via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store respectively. According to the Government of India, BGMI's comeback will be in the form of a three-month trial approval. If you are new to the mobile gaming scene and you want to experience BGMI firsthand, here are five important rules to keep in mind while creating a new account and coming up with your nickname or your in-game name.
Firstly, you should understand that Krafton and BGMI believe in creating a culture of responsible gaming and see it as their responsibility. The tag “Game Responsibly” reiterates how the publisher and the developers are striving to create a safe space within the game’s servers. As part of this is monitoring in-game names or player nicknames and upholding them against the standards.
Rules for Nicknames in BGMI
Krafton’s Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has very strict Rules of Conduct that every player needs to follow to avoid penalties including short-time bans and permanent bans in the game. If your BGMI nickname does not comply with the rules of conduct, you will be penalized by the developers. So before you go on to a nickname generator for BGMI, make sure that you are complying with the terms and conditions.
Regarding this, Krafton says, “Inappropriate nicknames or those that may be offensive or provoke negative imagery are considered to be in violation of the Rules of Conduct, and action may be taken against users who create them.”
Players need to avoid the following in BGMI:
Sexually explicit or obscene nicknames;
A nickname that is made with the intention to impersonate Krafton or its staff;
A nickname that is discriminatory in nature;
A nickname that may infringe on the trademark or copyright of a third party;
A nickname that is sensitive or causes offense for any other reason not mentioned above
As a result, when you do not follow these five major nickname rules in BGMI, you will be banned for 90 days from the game and your nickname or clan name will be changed without your consent.
Note that this penalty falls under the “Usage of Inappropriate Nicknames and Clan names” criteria in BGMI’s Rules of Conduct.
However, note that BGMI does allow you to use unique fonts, special characters, and symbols in your nickname, enabling you to stand out amidst other players in the lobby!
