Update: Krafton has announced that the game will be playable from May 29th onwards.
Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is set to return very soon and the game will be available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Since the announcement by Krafton, the first question on a lot of players’ minds was “BGMI kab chalu hoga? (When will BGMI return)”.
Well the questions have finally been answered with Krafton confirming the BGMI release date.
BGMI Release Date Announced
Through a message on the in-game client, Krafton has announced BGMI release date will be May 29th onwards. The game will be playable from that day onwards.
Players can already start preloading the game from today (May 27th) onwards on Android devices for existing users on the Google Play Store. However, the game will remain unplayable till May 29th.
Apple users will have to wait until May 29th to download the game on iOS through the App Store.
BGMI servers are currently unavailable
We can expect the game to return shortly and Krafton has temporarily shut down the servers. The publisher clarified that the BGMI servers will be unavailable for a while until it is ready for its re-launch “with a better and bigger experience.”
Players need not worry about their account progress as all of their profile data will be seamlessly transferred once the game is available again. We will update fans as soon as more information is available about BGMI’s release date. You can also follow the official BGMI social media channels to stay updated. Krafton has dropped some teasers about the game’s return which you can check out on the official BGMI Instagram account.
While we wait for BGMI’s release date to be revealed, Krafton has sent out a notice asking players to game responsibly and we can expect measures to be taken to reduce in-game violent imagery and time spent inside the game.
The game’s return is also not permanent as the Indian government has sanctioned a three-month trial. Officials will closely monitor and assess concerns related to "user harm and addiction" before making a final decision regarding the game's permanent status. We could have measures similar to China where anyone below the age of 18 is restricted in terms of playtime.
Fans cannot wait to find out BGMI’s release date and the game’s return is expected to reignite the mobile esports industry in India. The community has already waited for ten months and we only need to wait a little while longer to jump into the battle royale once again.
