How to download and play Free Fire on Jio Phone has been the question on several Free Fire fans' minds after PUBG Mobile’s ban in India. The game saw 2.1 million downloads within four days of the ban. With new players downloading the game, Jio Phone owners are also looking into ways of playing Free Fire on Jio Phones. Unfortunately, both JioPhone and JioPhone 2 are not compatible with the game. This means that even if you somehow download the file, the game won’t run. Jio Phones run on the KaiOS which does not support Android applications. There is also no indication that Garena will be introducing support for KaiOS alongside its support for Android and iOS. There are several websites telling you how to download and play Free Fire on Jio Phone but these should not be trusted. Downloading APK links from unknown websites may download malware into your phone.

Why can’t I play Free Fire on Jio Phone?

As mentioned earlier, Jio Phones have a KaiOS which doesn't support either Android or iOS apps, hence you won't be able to play the game on either the first or the second generation Jio Phone. Both JioPhone and JioPhone 2 only have 512MB RAM, which won’t be able to run the game optimally. While the battle royale’s requirements are very low and some players can even run the game on a 500 MB RAM phone (with all the graphic settings turned off), the different operating system means this is highly unlikely. Having a Jio sim card will not affect your gameplay, it’s the Jio Phone’s operating system that stops players from running the game.

Although Jio Phones have some features of typical smartphones, neither models have a touchscreen so they cannot support Free Fire’s touch controls. Older physical key touchpads simply cannot match the precision and control of a smartphone’s touch screen controls.

JioPhone and JioPhone 2 both have physical keypads.

So while you may be able to download Free Fire for Jio Phone, playing it is close to impossible. Consider investing in a low-end Android phone, which has more than 500MB RAM and most importantly an Android 4.0 and above operating system if you want to play the battle royale.

Why Shouldn't I Download Free Fire Apks for Jio Phones

Beware of APK sites and even videos on YouTube that claim to show you how to download and play Free Fire for Jio Phones. However, as we have discussed earlier, the operating system just doesn’t support the battle royale. So these videos are likely false.

Also, stay away from suspicious links that claim to show you how to download and play Free Fire on Jio Phone because the links they suggest may infect your phone and steal personal information like UPI and bank details or cause your phone to malfunction.
