Pocketpair Community Manager Acknowledges the Decreasing Palworld Playercount Discourse, Calls It Lazy
Pocketpair’s Palworld was released on 19th January and immediately took the gaming industry by storm, reaching rapid heights and breaking Steam records by accumulating a colossal 19 million player count after the first two weeks. However, numerous gamers have noticed that its daily player count seems to be reducing day-by-day, as several engage in discourses on community forums and X. Considering this Pocketpair Community Manager who goes by @Bucky_cm on X, has put out an official statement, ultimately concluding that these discussions and criticisms are lazy and goes nowhere. Without further ado, let’s see what the fuss is all about.
Pocketpair’s Community Manager Was Convinced That Anything Above a 50,000 Player Mark Was Unobtainable
In a post published on 14th February, Bucky begins by addressing the upcoming 1-month mark of Palworld. They say that 10 months ago on 13th May 2023, they would never expected Palworld to reach a million active players. “I was convinced that Palworld could break the 50,000 player mark. Anything above that seemed unobtainable though.”, said Bucky.
The community manager mentions that it has taken many years of hard work to reach this point and that Palworld’s journey through the gaming industry begins only now. They say that while players have had fun over the last 3 weeks, it is fine that they would want to put down Palworld for a while. They added:
“This emerging ‘Palworld has lost X% of its player base’ discourse is lazy, but it's probably also a good time to step in and reassure those of you capable of reading past a headline that it is fine to take breaks from games. You don't need to feel bad about that.”
They also admit the fact that as much as they would like to, Palworld is currently not in a position to pump out massive content every week. “There are so many amazing games out there to play; you don’t have to feel guilty about hopping from game to game,” they say.
While some players seem worried about the game’s decreasing player count, others are still hopeful about Palworld’s roadmap, as we continue to see the hype around six new upcoming Pals spotted by a data miner. This shows that while some players are taking their time off from the game, their interest in Palworld is certainly a long way from dropping anytime soon. We can expect the player count to increase again when Pocketpair releases big updates featuring new content for the game.
