The Palworld Effigy Bug is causing players some issues. As with any early access title, Palworld is no stranger to bugs and glitches. A recent bug has surfaced with Effigies in the game, which is causing reduced capture rates for players. Catching Pals in Palworld is an integral part of the game. Players are always looking for ways to increase their odds of catching larger, rarer Pals. However, the bug seems to be causing the opposite effect. Here is all you need to know about the Palworld Effigy bug.
Palworld Effigy Bug: Lifmunk Effigy Upgrades Reduce Capture Rates
Improving your capture rate in Palworld is a priority as you aim your sights on more difficult Pals to catch. Some ways of improving your capture rate are - leveling up your character, getting better spheres and turning in Lifmunk Effigies at a Statue of Power. However, instead of increasing your capture rate, some players have discovered that it is in fact doing the opposite. The Palworld Effigy bug is causing a reduction in player capture rates when you submit Lifmunk Effigies at Statues of Power.
A YouTube video by Chalenor documents the bug which is causing a reduction in player capture rates with upgrades.
The YouTuber attempts an experiment testing out capture rates with maxed-out level Lifmunk Effigies on a Statute of Power compared to zero upgrades. The results showed a 37% capture rate with maxed-out Effigies and a 53% capture rate for zero upgrade. While the experiment is one data point, the high disparity between the capture rates is noteworthy. Several people on Reddit have also noticed the bug. Redditor StatusRhubarb6465 ran a statistical analysis of the video and ultimately their own experiments which points to the existence of a bug.
Palworld developer's fixes for Lifmunk Effigy bug closes workaround
PocketPair, the developers of Palworld, updated players for patch v0.1.4.0. Listed under ‘Player Issues’, the developers have stated, “Fixed an issue where capture power strengthened by Lifmunk Effigies was reset when using memory reset drugs.”
Before patch v0.1.4.0 on 1st February, players discovered a workaround to mitigate the impact of the Lifmunk bug. Using the Memory Wiping Machine had previously let players reset their Effigies and resume capturing Pals at a higher rate. However, this loophole has been shut with the patch. With players continuing to report encountering the bug in the game, Palworld developers are yet to address the bug’s persistence. Players will have to wait for a fix from their end.
