Palworld, the co-op action survival game, has become the third most-concurrently played title of all time on Steam, crossing over 1.5 million players. While you can play the game solo and make progress, going for the Palworld Multiplayer experience can be so much fun. Working with a few friends, you can build larger bases, take down bosses and progress a lot faster. Here is all you need to know about how to play Palworld Multiplayer with friends.
Palworld Multiplayer: How to set up
You can host a game or join one set up by a friend in your personal save file, which can host up to four players. Alternatively, you can set up a dedicated server which can be played by up to 32 players. Joining a personal save will need you to input an invite code, which the host player will find in their options.

Every time you log on for a gaming session with your buddies, you will need to send them a newly generated invite code.
To play on a dedicated server, you can either join one of Palworld’s existing public servers or host one of your own. If you don’t want to go through the hassle of hosting a server, you can pay for a hosting website. Note that dedicated servers are available only on Steam for now. Xbox players can only host four-player sessions. If you want to host a larger server, you will need to play on Steam.
What are the differences between solo and multiplayer in Palworld?
Multiplayer servers have some key differences compared to solo:
Players will need to individually unlock fast travel points and cover the map. There isn’t a shared system for map discovery and unlocking fast travel points.
Loot from the world is not shared. If you open a chest or Pal Sphere, it is now yours. You cannot share it with your friends.
You can add players to your Guild and only they can build work on your base. If you want to have a separate base from your friends, you will have to have your own guild.
You can take down tower bosses, like Grizzbolt, together as a group.
What platforms is Palworld on?
Palworld is currently available for Xbox and PC. The game is also available on Game Pass for Xbox. Unfortunately, PlayStation fans will have to wait for a release on the platform. In the Palworld early access official FAQ the developers mention, “We don’t have plans for this at the moment, but will consider it during development.” There is a chance that Palworld will get a PlayStation release for the game down the road.
