Players will need to have played the regular Simulated Universe in Honkai Star Rail and have completed World 5.

The stages in the Simulated Universe: The Swarm Disaster in Honkai Star Rail will be shown as randomly generated icons known as domains. There will be multiple planes with their own set of domains that players need to pass through. Players will need to clear adjacent domains in order to progress forward and reach the boss. Various perks and challenges will be encountered by players as they make progress. 

List of Domains in the Simulated Universe: The Swarm Disaster

Here are the 12 types of domains;

• Blank: Nothing will happen in this domain.

• Combat: Defeat enemies to obtain Blessings.

• Combat Swarm: A special domain where players need to defeat Swarm enemies to receive Blessings of Propagation.

• Elite: Defeat Elite-type enemies for a chance to recieve a 3-star Blessing

• Occurrence: Select from a verity of options which will lead to different outcomes and rewards.

• Occurrence Swarm: The Swarm's alertness may be affected by the choices selected. The higher the alertness, the harder it is to clear the domain.

• Boss: Defeat the boss to leave the plane and receive Blessings and Curious.

• Boss Swarm: Defeating the special boss called Swarm: True Sting in this domain will clear the Simulated Universe.

• Reward: Acquire one reward from the options given.

• Adventure: Complete various challenges to acquire rewards.

• Respite: Enhance Blessings, download characters, and reset/revive characters.

• Transaction: Purchase various Blessings and Curious using Cosmic Fragments.

Each domain will have their own effects so make sure to read them after clearing a domain before moving to the next. Domains from the left of your selected domain will no longer be accessible. While exploring all domains may provide more rewards, enemies will grow stronger if players stay too long in one plane.

There will also be instances where you need to give up an effect you have acquired for clearing a domain. Simply select the "Give Up" option to gain 10 Cosmic Fragments and continue on the next domain.

Players will also encounter beacons which can be used to enhance a combat-type domain. Enemies in this domain will be stronger but provide players with additional rewards.

• Enhance: Enemies are enhanced but levels up all Blessings offered after clearing the domain.

• Mutation: Enemies will turn into "Bugs" but rewards players with additional Cosmic Fragments upon clearing the domain.

• Blessing Trotter: Trotters will spawn in this domain. Defeat them to obtain additional Blessings.

• Curio Trotter: Trotters will spawn in this domain. Defeat them to obtain additional Curious.

Players can upgrade their Communing Trail by simply playing the game and discovering new Blessings and Paths in the Simulated Universe: The Swarm Disaster in Honkai Star Rail.
