Honkai Star Rail Pure Fiction Guide: What is the Best Buff Effect to Use?
Erupt, Excitation, or Rupture?
The Honkai Star Rail Pure Fiction game mode is one of the recently added game modes in the version 1.6 update. It challenges players to clear as many waves as they can in a set amount of rounds. The Honkai Star Rail Pure Fiction game mode allows players to use one of the three powerful buff effects named Erupt, Excitation, or Rupture. These buffs apply Shatter to enemies in varying ways which can help them deal additional damage to clear waves faster.
Here is a guide on which buff is the best to use in the Honkai Star Rail Pure Fiction game mode.
Erupt, Excitation, or Rupture? Which Buff is the best to use in Pure Fiction?
Excitation
Out of all the Buff Effects currently available in the Honkai Star Rail Pure Fiction game mode, Excitation is the best Buff Effect in almost every lineup as it is the most consistent when it comes to applying shatter to enemies.
When equipped, it has an 80% chance to apply 1 stack of Shatter to enemies. While it’s not a guaranteed application, it is enough to be consistent and clear waves of enemies with its chain reaction of Shatter explosions.
Erupt
The Erupt Buff Effect is the second best to use due to how fast you can stack up on Shatter debuffs through Ultimate abilities. The only downside to this is that your units will not have their Ultimate abilities ready at all times so it will be a bit slower than Excitation.
If you wish to use this, it is advisable to bring either Tingyun or Huohuo to recharge Ultimate abilities fast.
Rupture
Arguably, Rupture is currently the least viable option out of all the Buff Effects in Honkai Star Rail Pure Fiction. This buff increases your team’s Ultimate DMG if an enemy with a Shatter stack is defeated.
The problem with this mechanic is that you don’t necessarily need to stack up on damage too much as overkilling enemies will not provide additional points. You just need to have enough damage to defeat enemies and clear waves fast. This is why, most lineups that work in Pure Fiction are composed of three damage dealers and one support instead of a well-rounded team as killing enemies fast is a priority instead of stacking up damage buffs onto one ally just to clear a wave.
If you are struggling to clear waves or defeat bosses in Pure Fiction, considering having the Rupture Buff Effect. Otherwise, go for Excitation.
What is Shatter in Pure Fiction?
Shatter is a debuff that activates when an enemy takes their turn or is defeated. Shatter will deal damage to its host and adjacent enemies based on the number of stacks applied, up to six stacks.
