Honkai Star Rail Developer Radio for Version 2.0: Game Optimizations and QoL Updates

Hoyoverse has recently released a Penacony exclusive Developer Radio for Honkai Star Rail’s Version 2.0. The 2.0 update promises a slew of game-changing improvements as well as an expansive new territory, Penacony. Hoyo confirmed the release of Penacony and provided an in-depth look at the upcoming changes to the game, including Quality of Life via their Developer Radio. Let’s take a look.
The Introduction to Penacony
The introduction of the new area, Penacony, is the main feature of the 2.0 release. Players can expect Hoyoverse to deliver on a new world with an entirely new lore of its own as they have in the past with the Xianzhou Luofu’s Fyxestroll Garden. And with the trailer that we saw at The Game Awards 2023, we can also expect the likes of Acherona and Black Swan to be a part of the Trailblazers' journey into Penacony.
Black Swan's Reveal
The official drip marketing for the new character, Black Swan, coincides with the reveal of Penacony. Black Swan, known as the 'Memokeeper of the Garden of Recollection,' is portrayed as a mysterious and exquisite soothsayer with a pleasant smile. The drip marketing alludes to her unique ability to enter memories' and gain a thorough comprehension of the flow of information.
Relic System Overhaul
The Relic system has undergone considerable improvements in version 2.0. Players can now level up relics, salvage 5-star relics into Lost Gold Fragments or Relic Remains, and dump relics completely. The filter function has been significantly improved, making it easier for players to manage their relic inventory. A community-driven suggested relic set function has also been announced.
New Universal Material - Tears of Dreams
A new material to upgrade both Traces and Light Cones.
Gifted to players in version 1.6 and farmable thereafter.
Calyx and Material Drops
Addition of new Crimson Calyx stages in Penacony.
Exchangeable new Path materials for existing ones.
Golden Calyxes now drop base materials previously only available by farming mobs.
Introduction of 6 Golden Calyxes in both Xianzhou Luofu and Penacony.
Orlay Crossroads System
A system organizing Trailblaze, Companion, Adventure, and Trailblaze Continuance missions into a tree-like diagram.
Helps players visualize the timeline of events in the game's lore.
Updated Light Cone Manifest Store
Version 2.0 will introduce new Light Cones for players to obtain and enhance.
Players can use Lucent Afterglow to purchase these, allowing them to pre-farm in advance.
