Genshin Impact's expansive world offers breathtaking landscapes, hidden treasures, and vast bodies of water that adventurers can explore. With the introduction of the Waverider Boat in patch 1.6, players can now navigate the seas in style. In this guide, we'll break down the process of unlocking, summoning, and effectively using the Waverider Boat.
Unlocking the Waverider Boat
To access the Waverider Boat, players must first unlock the Inazuma region by reaching Adventure Rank 30 and completing the Archon Quest Chapter 2: Prologue – Autumn Winds and Scarlet Leaves. Once you've accomplished this, you'll be ready to set sail in the land of the Raiden Shogun.
Summoning the Waverider
The key to summoning the Waverider lies in locating Waverider Waypoints, which are plentiful throughout Inazuma. Activate these Waypoints as you would Teleporters, and a Waverider will materialize on the nearby shoreline. Swim over, interact with the boat, and you'll become the captain of your very own mini-ship.
Waverider Controls and Features
The Waverider comes equipped with various abilities and features. It boasts a Normal Attack called Swiftstrike Cannon, ideal for dispatching lightly armored foes, and a Special Attack known as the Heavy Cannon, delivering substantial AoE damage. The boat has a separate stamina bar for acceleration and can even regenerate health, making it a resilient vessel in the face of combat or unexpected obstacles.
Navigating the Seas
Controlling the Waverider is intuitive, with different controls depending on your gaming platform. For PC users, the F key allows you to board the boat, the E key activates the Heavy Cannon, and the Left Mouse button triggers the Swiftstrike Cannon. Acceleration, deceleration, and exiting the Waverider are controlled by various inputs as well. Mobile and PlayStation users have their own set of controls, ensuring a seamless sailing experience for all players.
Waverider Waypoint Locations
Waverider Waypoints are scattered across Inazuma, providing convenient locations for summoning the boat. The Golden Apple Archipelago, introduced during the Midsummer Island Adventure event, also features Waverider Waypoints for a limited time.
Waverider Repair Toolbox
Should your Waverider sustain damage, fear not. The Waverider Repair Toolbox, obtained as a reward from Act I of the Midsummer Adventure Island challenges, can be used to restore the boat's structural integrity. Simply access the toolbox in your Gadgets Inventory, select "Use," and enjoy unlimited repairs with a 90-second cooldown.
